IS BARAK OBAMA THE ANTICHRIST?
It had to happen sooner or later. Every time an ugly mannered left wing Liberal takes office, some alleged prophecy expert finds a way to twist the numbers and play with language until he has the villain turned into Antichrist. This article consists of a letter with links from a sincere reader. I follow up with my answers. You can choose your expert just as you please, but I have the high road on research on this one, no doubt about it folks.

Sorry, but Obama was not named by Jews, nor was he "fingered" subtly by Jesus Christ for us to identify in 2012 as the Antichrist.
Obama's father was a Kenya citizen who converted to Islam. His tribe are the Luo on Lake Victoria in Kavirando. The official language of Kenya is Swahili which is a hybrid of Arabic and Bantu languages. English is the second official language, with Swahili, of Kenya.
In Arabic, "barak" means blessing.
In Swahili, a language derived from Arabic, it is "baraka" and means blessing.
The Hebrew word "barak" means blessing (Strong's H1288).
The Hebrew word "baraq" means lightning (Strong's H1300).
The word "baraq" (used by the alleged prophecy expert at World Net Daily) is Hebrew for lightning (Strong's H1300) and is a totally different word than "barak" and is spelled differently, and it has a different pronunciation.
It is cheating on reality between the past and the present to tie the Hebrew word for lightning, Antichrist, and Obama together. The two "barak" and "baraq" Hebrew words sound alike when Anglicized. This would be like making a great prophetic claim based on "sweet" and "suite" sounding alike.
So, taking Obama's African / Islamic / Arabized father's heritage into account, his name is Barak in context of Swahili / Arabic, not in the prophetic words of Jesus Christ in Luke 10:18. There is NO record in the Bible of God hiding secrets in names from the past to be revealed in the future, like 2000 years later in a non-biblical language-- English or Swahili. All the Word of God is plain speech and should be taken as such and translated literally.
You also need to understand one more fact. Africans often have a tribal name from the past as a surname, and they add a given name which is more modern. Yohana (John), Mari (Mary), Elizabeti, Joshua, Stefanus (Stephen), and so forth, are common first names for Christians. Muslims give their babies well used Arabized Islamic names. Barak happens to be one of the most common names in the Middle East. It would be the mother's way of saying her son was a blessing. It is remotely possible that Obama's American mother picked this name by asking some Muslim for a name that sounded charming. It may also be that he was renamed in Indonesia when his mother lived in that Muslim culture. This may be the problem he has with showing a birth certificate-- he may have been named something else when he was born.
As to the surname Obama, this is a common sounding Luo name. Obama is from the Luo tribe of Kenya. I grew up with these people around me much of the time and I can greet Obama in his native tongue if I ever have the need to meet him :-)
Please pay special attention to the fact that the "O" in Obama is a male affixation. This blows the WND article into a cocked hat. The root of Obama is "bama".

I have no interest in this alleged expert pastor who schmoozed World Net Daily. He has much less authority than I do, and I do not claim to have the last word on this. If you want to play games with the whole picture in REAL LINGUISTICS Barak Obama means "The blessed one who bends things."
I wonder if you are feasting on mystical blather and bluster too much? God has NOT revealed the name of the Antichrist, and thousands of idiots have tried to prove some past wicked person was the Antichrist. Besides, who cares? Jesus Christ takes us out of here before this Satanic person takes power.
Tell, me, if you had to talk about the 1000 year kingdom rule of Christ for twenty minutes, how long would it be before you ran our of gas? That is 1000 years, the Antichrist has 7 years for his program. Why do so many Christians get their minds buried in notions about Satan and his era? Do you have any idea how much is said about the 1000 year reign of Christ? I started a series of messages on the coming Kingdom back in the 90's in Michigan. I went on for about 12 weeks, and I had gotten through about 20% of the Old and New Testament scripture on the Kingdom. I had to give it up because it looked like it would drag on for well over a year.
This letter is a loving rebuke.

Instead of trying to figure out who this dead beat loser is who will rage in the world for a few years, how about looking into that 1000 years when you will rule and reign with Jesus Christ? There is a vast bulk of prophecy on the subject which will really charge your batteries.
Tell me, if you KNEW for sure who the Antichrist was, what on earth do you think you could do about it? The Antichrist does not even know who he is until Satan enters him. Who will believe you? What difference does it make? Will anyone get saved by you preaching the gospel of the Antichrist? Can you avoid anything he will do by knowing who he is?
By the way, someone else in the Bible is called Barak (Hebrew):
Psalms 72:17 His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.
Messiah, Jesus Christ, will be called Barak!
This notion you found is like saying some Mexican named Jesus (Hey suus) in Tijuana is the Antichrist because he is called Jesus. There are probably 50 million Jesus'es in Mexico.
Tell me, do you think the Jews will go for a Black Muslim from Kenya as the false Messiah. There are some dumb Jews in the world I suppose, but not enough to get Obama ten minutes of time ruling Jerusalem.

PS I did my research in Greek and Hebrew as well as in Swahili (which I speak), Arabic, and Luo. I come behind your sources in NO way. I have 6 years and 4000 pages of research material on Middle Eastern matters I also draw on. Most important, I find NOWHERE in the Bible where I am told to try to identify the Antichrist. It is a wicked waste of time, and Satan loves to see us chasing mystic notions instead of preaching Christ. Leave Obama alone-- he didn't sneak up on God, and God is in charge of every minute of Obama's life. If he happened to be the Antichrist, that would be GREAT because that would mean I am real close to hearing, "Come up hither....".
