WAR ROOM

2 Samuel 22:35 He teacheth my hands to war;
so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

This means they do NOT believe we have any copy of the final inspired Word of God today:

WAR FRONT-- BIBLE MUTILATORS
IN DEFENSE OF THE KING JAMES BIBLE

Statement: I would rather have a Bible study with a hick from the
hills who used only a King James Bible than to go to a preacher's
conference and hear ten scholars defend the King James Bible.

We have too many men who wave the KJV, defend the KJV, and
bash the funny bibles, but the slow bellies will not study the KJV
to get up a sermon with more than four proof texts in it.

However; there is a place for defending the Bible, so....

LETTER FROM A READER:

I am a dispensationalist, as I'm sure you are, but I don't think that means we are to carve the Bible up into little pieces and then pick and choose which parts are "for us." If we took out all the stuff they say is "not for us," we would be left with a Bible that could be easily condensed into about 100 pages and would leave out many wonderful, cherished parts-- parts that have spoken mightily to my heart in many situations over the years.

Read the introduction to the Scofield Bible (I threw my Scofield Bible out in the trash years ago so I can't quote it verbatim) where it says (roughly) that nothing from Genesis 12 on to about the middle of the Book of Acts pertains to us (Christians), and that only some of the epistles do. What rubbish. Think of the wondrous stories of some of the greatest men of the Bible that we would be deprived of if we actually read the Bible according to that blasted formula. Think of the many wondrous teachings and sayings of Jesus Christ we would be deprived of if we read the Bible according to that formula.

As for the Sermon on the Mount: maybe it is for the millennium. Maybe it is for another dispensation. But I can't believe that Jesus would pronounce those blessings on those sorts of people and not want us, in this dispensation, to partake of them. I can't believe He would give us these beautiful teachings on life itself--practical, sensible teachings we can apply in our everyday lives to help us with our relationships with other people (lost and saved) and with our own attitudes and actions--and not want us to apply them to our lives. I know that some would undoubtedly try to make the Sermon on the Mount a way of salvation (the Catholics already do), but that is their problem.

For us who know better, I think we are cheating ourselves out of a lot of peace if we dismiss these teachings because the Great Brother So-and-So told us they are not for us.
