Letter from a reader, a lady soldier in the US Army:
"On another note, many Christians seem to be confused about the book of Revelations. They don't understand how Christians will be persecuted to the point of death during the tribulation period. But America has been a dormant dictatorship since its founding. The Terri Shiavo controversy is proof of that fact. Judges have been systematically taking more power over the years. A state court judge ordered that a woman be executed simply because she cannot take care of herself, and the governor of Florida was powerless to do anything about it. Then a federal court judge refused to change the decision of the lower court and the president and the congress were powerless to do anything about it. It will not be surprising when, in the future, Christians will be ordered put to death by state and federal court judges because of their refusal to accept the mark of the beast."
I know from communication with the lady that she does not mean that Christians will enter the Great Tribulation. I do feel like this lady has hit the real issue in the Shiavo chaos-- court judges are taking over the USA. We may soon be under a dictatorship from the Supreme Court Bench. At that point, sodomy, and every filthy perversion will be forced on America, and preachers will be TOLD what they can and cannot preach about. We are only a few court rulings from the Fourth Reich.
