Hi Everybody, I was quite disturbed by the following e-mail, and I want to make a few personal comments concerning it. I was not disturbed because Benny Hinn is having a turn around. I was disturbed because of the trend towards the "next wave": namely, manifestations of power. The manifestations of power I am talking about is not those of what we have seen on individuals in the "laughing meetings," but a wave of power that goes outward instead of that which is aimed at personal "edification." Benny Hinn is building a world media center to take the power he manifests to the world. We all have heard all the unscriptural statements by Mr. Hinn. We have all heard and seen how he encourages people to breathe in the anointing during his meeting because it is so strong and it must be done quickly. We have all seen how he used to blow on people to pass the anointing on. We have all seen how he would wave his coat at sections of the audience "once they were ready" and a wave of "the spirit" would sweep through that section. We have all seen how he pulls his hand back when the electric jolt hits people during his services and how he feels the literal heat at times when he touches people. I recently heard him say when we breathe out we breathe ourselves out and when we breathe in we breathe in the Spirit. We are not talking about a Mr. Hinn who has a turnaround, but "an anointed one" who is paving the way for the wayward church to come out of its good feelings, self-centeredness into a power that wants to unleash itself upon the world as prophesied in 2 Thessalonians 2. Just as Brownsville has been used to "legitimize" the "revival" in the light of Toronto, so is Mr. Hinn's statements a legitimization of his power. Beware. We are entering into a time of signs and wonders as Paul warned of in 2 Thessalonians.
