THE HOLY HATRED OF GOD

God IS love, but God is not Hate.
The milque toast church rejects God's hate and helps
their people BE hated by God as a result.

God's Hatred

This is one of those doctrines that people just don't want to hear or even talk about, God's hatred. We have been taught that God loves the sinner but hates the sin. But this teaching is a denial of the teachings of scriptures. God not only hates iniquity He hates all those who do iniquity.

Psalms 5:5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

It is impossible to separate the sin from the sinner. God does not punish sin, He punishes the sinner. It is not the sin that is condemned but it is the sinner who is thrown into Hell.

God is love; God does not choose to love.

1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

Unlike God, man chooses to love. God's love is incomprehensible to the nature of man. In other words no man in the history of man's existence has had the capability to preach the full intensity of the love of God. Man, who is a sinner by nature, absolutely cannot understand God's love.

What we can do is try to understand the love that God has revealed to us. And upon conceiving it, we know that God's love causes him to have a deep zeal for His children. Because God has a zeal for His children, God must hate the evil and the things that are perverse.

If you love babies, children, or infants, then you must hate abortion. It is impossible for you to have a passion for the life of infants and not hate abortion. If you love black people then you must hate slavery. If you love Jewish people then you must hate the holocaust. If you love God then you must hate evil.

It must be noted with Psalm 139 that the believer may hate, but ONLY with the hate of God, NOT in vengeful hate because of anything done to the believer.

You see, as with God himself, if we become a "partaker of the divine nature," (II Peter 1:4) we will, to some degree, BECOME love, and, again like God, we will hate any affront to God intensely, WHILE WE KEEP LOVING THE SINNER.

Psalms 97:10 Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

Because God is love He must hate, and hate He does. The Holy hatred of God is a perfect hatred.

Psalms 139:21 Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?
22 I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.

In the same way the love of God is a perfect love and Holy love, his hatred is holy hatred. This is not something we can ever totally understand.

What Does God's Hatred Mean?

The word Hate means to dislike intensely or passionately, a strong aversion toward another: to detest, loathe, abhor, or abominate. Although these are harsh words, most, if not all of these words, are used in scripture to describe God's relationship to sin and the sinner.

The word "abhorred" is used in Leviticus 20:23.

Leviticus 20:23 And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.

"Abomination" is used in Deut. 18:12, and 25:16.

Deuteronomy 18:12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

"Abominable" again is used in Titus 1:16.

Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

In Psalm 11:4-7; we witness a very important text regarding God's hatred.

Psalms 11:4 The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.
5 The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.
6 Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.
7 For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.

Unlike man, God's hatred is holy and is a result of His love. God's hatred is not at all a denial of God's love.

Although God's wrath abides on the wicked and He is angry with the wicked every day, he never stops loving the sinner.

Psalms 7:11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

God's love still is able to love those who are at the very pinpoint of His hatred, and he pleads for them to receive His salvation.

Even though God is longsuffering in His mercies, there will come a time that God will withdraw His offer of salvation and reconciliation and it will no longer be possible. The train is slow but it's coming. God's wrath is slow but it's coming. Sinful men, and those that continue to deny this, should take this grim promise with fear and trembling.

2 Corinthians 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
