IGNORANCE.....
THE DEADLY REFUGE PART THREEThe
folly of choosing Ignorance as a Refuge in the 21st Century
By Steve Van Nattan
HAVE
YOU READ: PART
ONE: FIRST THOUGHTS PART
TWO: SEVEN REASONS TO STAY SIMPLE
PART
THREE: HOW SHALL WE THEN GET KNOWLEDGE? WHAT
SHALL WE DO WITH A MAN, PREACHER, OR THEOLOGIAN WHO HAS WILLFULLY CHOSEN TO
BE IGNORANT IN SOME AREA OF LIFE OR FAITH? A
self-imposed ignorance in a preacher, or any Christian man, is aggravating, yes,
but can a theologian be ignorant on purpose? Yes,
especially if he is a Reformed theologian. I have found, more than once, Reformed
theologians who refuse to study eschatology, the doctrine of the End Times, simply
because they are terrified of controversy. They will tear your face off if you
dare to disagree with John Calvin, but they want to be at peace with everyone
about the End Times. So, they are willfully lacking in any opinion for the end
of the Church Age as taught in the Bible. I have known several Reformed men who
were bright professionals who admitted to secretly reading books about prophecy
and the Rapture. My uncle was one of them. The reason they read in secret was
because some Reformed pastors actually rebuke members who study prophecy. Over
25% of the Bible is about prophecy. To rebuke a saint for craving knowledge of
prophecy is blasphemy. Lest
we only pick on Reformed men, consider the Fundamental Baptist preacher who cannot
talk about various doctrines. What help is he to the men in his assembly? The
most aggravating example is to find a preacher who tells me, "We are King
James Version only in this church." Then I ask him his thoughts on some aspect
of the history of the Greek texts of the New Testament, and the old boy draws
a blank stare. You are NOT KJV only if you have no knowledge of the controversy
over the two families of Greek manuscripts. The history of the Greek texts makes
it very clear that it is a battle between the Whore of Rome and Jesus Christ himself.
If you are one of these ignorant ones, FEEL
FREE TO START HERE AT THIS JOURNAL. You need desperately to gather more knowledge. God
has an opinion on such ignorance: 1
Corinthians 14:38 But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. Ironically,
the famous favorite Bible translation of the Reformed Movement, the Geneva Bible,
has this footnote about those who choose to remain ignorant: "The
church ought not to care for those who are stubbornly ignorant, and will not abide
to be taught, but (the church should) go forward nonetheless in those things which
are right."
Do
not waste your time trying to convince a willfully ignorant person to get busy
and form an opinion on anything. And, if that man is your pastor, you need to
find another church to attend. Ignorant pastors produce ignorant kids, and yours
will be no exception if you don't go find a church where the pastor is plowing
deep.
GOING
AFTER GOD HONORING KNOWLEDGE Ecclesiastes
12:12 And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there
is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh. Solomon
told us he was frustrated with the knowledge he had gathered in his lifetime.
Solomon did not suggest we all seek to be as dumb as possible. What is implied
here is that there is knowledge that can become obsessive or oppressive, and it
does not satisfy the soul. So,
how do we decide where to seek knowledge and where to avoid it? Romans
16:19 For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your
behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning
evil. In
Paul's day, Rome and Greece were the cultural and academic centers of the world.
Paul, who was himself a Jew from Greece, had been trained as a Rabbi, and he had
experienced the lust for knowledge. Paul went up Mars Hill in Athens, and he found
the elite of the Greek philosophers, and what were they doing? Acts
17:21 (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in
nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.) Nothing
has changed. The topic on Mars Hill was not based in story telling. It was all
about new things. This is what you can find on YouTube. I personally find that
YouTube can be seductive in the extreme. I love to watch the buses on the narrow
roads in the Himalayas creeping along barely staying on the road. But, it becomes
addictive. And, after a session of "new things" like that, what do I
have to take away that I can feel edifies me? Nearly nothing. Maybe you like to
watch Russian truck drivers blast through mud holes with overloaded trucks. Or,
do you get a buzz out of the high speed police chases on the Los Angeles Freeways?
These things are not intrinsically evil, but they clutter the mind with rubbish
of no lasting value. And, I have found that they can become the plot, in the middle
of the night, for a very frustrating dream. At that time, I regret the "new
thing" even more. In my dream I am on the road through the Himalayas, but
I am walking, and I don't know which way is home. Story
telling, and books about exploration and discovery, are great if you need distraction.
They leave you with facts about other places and times which can be useful in
conversation later or as sermon illustrations. Missionary biographies are ideal
for free time reading. Make sure they are about missionaries before about 1950.
Most accounts after that are about missionaries who were mainly given to social
work and very little about the Gospel. Look for missionary stories copyrighted
long ago for the same reason. Find them at Book
Finder or the Wayback Machine. Philippians
4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are
lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there
be any praise, think on these things. Many
of the new things in this life come as an evil report. Witness the news media,
Drudge, and social media. From that perspective, Paul recommends that the saints
keep life simple as to evil and develop their minds on good things. Today,
we have the Internet dumping immeasurable loads of evil on the world. Drudge Report
is a virtual treasure trove for anyone hungry to feast their soul on the wretched
world out there. So, it takes an act of the will to NOT CLICK where you know very
well you will be taken to evil reports and vile depravity. Stop wasting the time
of the Holy Spirit asking him to protect you from evil online. FLEE it. 2
Timothy 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity,
peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Mia
Culpa time. I have a problem with this. My old perverse nature, which hangs around
trying to send me back down the road to those old appetites, sees the headline,
and CLICK! That is when the Holy Spirit zaps me with conviction that I am headed
for the Slough of Despond, which is a filthy pond at that. The speed at which
I click back out determines how my fellowship with the Lord will go for the rest
of the day. It is all about that voice behind me. Isaiah
30:21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk
ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. Scott
McNealy — a cofounder of Sun Microsystems said this about decision making: It’s
important to make good decisions. But I spend much less time and energy worrying
about “making the right decision” and much more time and energy ensuring that
any decision I make turns out right.
In
Isaiah above, we see that there are times we "turn" to the right or
left. So, how do we make sure that, when we "turn," we end up making
a decision that, as McNealy said, "turns out right?" 1.
Do not stop your progress in life by standing still..... take a turn and keep
in motion. The captain of a ship cannot steer a ship that is not in motion. You
will not hear the voice behind you if you are dead in the water. 2.
But, be very alert to hear if a voice tells you to go another way. That is how
to make sure your decisions turn out right. Scott McNealy seems to be alone in
the task of making sure his decisions are the right ones. You are never alone
with Jesus Christ.
So,
in terms of knowledge, do not hide in a corner and shut out everything around
you. That will get you no knowledge upon which to act in wisdom. Keep looking
for knowledge, BUT, listen for the voice behind you that says, "Click out
of there my child, that knowledge is rubbish and will only destroy your peace
and fellowship with me." We
had to leave our work with Sudan Interior Mission in Ethiopia in 1974 because
of a Marxist coup. Christian Ethiopians were being accused of being the friends
of Imperialists, and the mission decided to quickly downsize from 300 missionaries
to 12. National Christians should not have to suffer persecution for being the
friends of Americans, only for being the friend of Jesus Christ. Our
family were among the first to leave. We did everything to get ready, sold most
of our possessions, and moved to the mission headquarters in the capital city
to wait for a flight back to the USA. But, we could also move on to join another
mission somewhere in the world and continue being missionaries. We were in motion
but also wondering if we might hear the voice of God behind us. The
word got to George Machamer of Gospel Furthering Fellowship in Kenya, the next
nation south of Ethiopia. My wife and I had grown up in Kenya as kids when our
parents were missionaries in the region. George Machamern took it upon himself
to send us a letter inviting us to join the GFF at once and move to Kenya to help
in the work. There was that voice, and it came in the mail like a voice out of
the blue. We then moved to Kenya and became part of the work of the GFF. As
you obey the Word of God to get more knowledge, be always alert for that voice
behind you as God tries to redirect your knowledge gathering.
GOOGLE
AND THE INTERNET We
need to talk more about information gathering on the Internet. Are
Google and Wikipedia your main source of new ideas? If
so, you know very well that there are many voices on every topic, and they often
disagree. I have found Wikipedia articles to often be in violent contradiction
of the facts I know from my own life experience. This is because of two problems.
First,
revisionism has totally warped world history over the past fifty years. The Liberal
and Conservative sources both lie and prevaricate about the alleged "Facts."
"The science" is also now a very common expression used to claim the
writer has the correct facts. In fact, "The Science" often simply does
not exist. "The Science" about Covid has turned out to be retracted
and altered over and over by the talking heads, government agencies, and alleged
"experts." For example, "The Science" on Climate Change is
refuted by hundreds of scientists around the world who have other information. The
second problem with fact gathering on the Web is that some people simply love
and make a lie. It is the End Times, and lying is endemic in all areas of life. Lying,
and the lust to hear lies, is now endemic, and soon God will step in, and he will
change men so that they have zero resistance to lies. God wants humanity to condemn
themselves just before he judges them. 2
Thessalonians 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall
consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of
his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all
power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness
in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they
might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion,
that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed
not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. Romans
3:4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written,
That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou
art judged. We
must stop grabbing "facts" online at face value, and we must assume
that every source could be lies. Prove everything by finding several sources,
and even then, avoid all "facts" that seem too extreme to be true. When
you pass along a lie online, or in social media, you are not excused because you
are sincere or did not know it was a lie. You are a liar because you passed on
lies. A
word of caution: l predict that the next big lie will be that space aliens are
real. They are NOT, and if they produce any alleged reality, I am convinced they
are devils playing tricks. God says nothing about aliens from outside the earth
ever participating in earth life. Also,
the 2020 US election has shown us that many Christians can be deceived by a man
with a vile filthy mouth who lies to exalt himself. We Bible believers must never
let ourselves be suckered into such a drama again.
Do
you come to an issue or subject with presuppositions, or do you seek the truth,
whatever you find? This
trick is as old as humanity. It is a fault we all have fallen into at times. We
decide what the truth is on a topic,
and we then avoid sources which give us contrary facts. We glean only "facts"
from those who agree with us. This is very obvious on Fox News and CNN. They lie,
and they have no remorse. Do you quote them? If so, you will make a fool of yourself
if you haven't already. As
the graphic illustrates, when we take action on presuppositions that are in error
or ungodly, our life will be directly affected by false assumptions. We saw how
Donald Trump was allowed by God to be President. Many Christians assumed that
Trump was God's choice to save America. This showed how quickly some Christians
forgot that Jesus Christ is the only one who can save America. Trump is not morally
qualified to save anything. We now know that he was a frequent flyer on Jeffrey
Epstein's Lolita Express plane that flew men to his Virgin Island estate to violate
under aged girls. Sadly, some Christians have not yet figured out right from wrong
in this story.
How
often do you seek out the old men at the gate for the old ways? 1
Kings 12:6 And king Rehoboam consulted with the old men, that stood before Solomon
his father while he yet lived, and said, How do ye advise that I may answer this
people? 7 And they spake unto him, saying, If thou wilt be a servant unto
this people this day, and wilt serve them, and answer them, and speak good words
to them, then they will be thy servants for ever. 8 But he forsook the counsel
of the old men, which they had given him, and consulted with the young men that
were grown up with him, and which stood before him: 9 And he said unto them,
What counsel give ye that we may answer this people, who have spoken to me, saying,
Make the yoke which thy father did put upon us lighter? 10 And the young men
that were grown up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou speak unto
this people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but
make thou it lighter unto us; thus shalt thou say unto them, My little finger
shall be thicker than my father's loins. 11 And now whereas my father did
lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father hath chastised
you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions. Rehoboam
did what the young men advised, and he ended up with civil war, and the kingdom
split into two kingdoms. A
college buddy of mine and I got inspired. We decided it would be a great service
to God to start a camping ministry for Christian youth. We would buy horses, set
up a coral, and then take young men on a horse back hike through the High Sierra
Mountains of California. Nothing like it existed, so we felt some pastors and
parents would like the idea. We felt a bit unsure of ourselves, so we went and
told an old godly ex-missionary what we had in mind. His advice was, "It
sounds like a great ministry, but you guys set out to go through Bible college.
Finish that part of your life, and then see if the Lord still wants you to do
the trail camping." We knew at once that he was right. I still believe it
was a good idea, but as it turned out, neither my buddy nor I still had the zeal
for this thing after we had graduated. Going forward with the thing would have
been a disaster. In
the end though, you are the one who should make the final verdict. Older men can
be fools sometimes. Examine all things by the Word of God. Job
32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment. One
of the deadly aspects of the modern mega churches is that almost all of them have
only young men as leaders. The pastor is also young in many cases, such as Joel
Osteen when he started preaching. Youth is a time of much energy, but young men
lack the experience that is gained by long life. Also, when any ministry is targeted
to appeal to young people, it will become shallow and silly and based on amusement.
A wise pastor is eager to have a balance between younger people and mature older
people in his church. This is also very important with younger and older Christian
women in the church. Titus
2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not
false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 4 That they
may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands,
that the word of God be not blasphemed. A
man followed me to become pastor of a church I left. He at once offended the older
members, both in his preaching and personally. So, the older members went off
to other churches. The church became unstable, and the pastor eventually fled,
looking for greener pastures. The church finally joined a doctrinally unstable
church in town, and the church ceased to exist. Leviticus
19:32 Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old
man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD.
WHEN
I AM BADLY INFORMED So,
what is the wise way to deal with worthless knowledge that I already have? Philippians
3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do,
forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things
which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling
of God in Christ Jesus. FORGETTING,
in this verse, means to do it on purpose. It is possible to consciously forget
old knowledge. Here are some suggestions: 1.
Get rid of old photographs that remind you of the knowledge of evil. I am talking
about far more than any porn that should never be on your computer. I am talking
about photos and graphics that might be funny, friendly, and actually innocent.
But, they take you back to other days when you were obsessed with conspiracies
and fixations with things that took your mind away from Christ. Nothing is innocent,
in your history, if it takes you back to bad days and away from Christ. 2.
Books. Preacher, this is for you. How about all those books on the cults? Was
there a time long ago when you were obsessed with researching the New Age Movement,
or some other movement? Did that era end with you walking far from Christ? If
so, BURN THOSE BOOKS. Do not give them to some other preacher. I did that once,
and I regret it. Furthermore, you pastors who are my age and in your 70s, you
have no business going to war anymore. Your job is to feed sheep and prepare young
men for Christian warfare. 3.
Take a seat in the gate of the city. In 2 Samuel 18-19 the battle of King David
against the followers of his rebel son Absalom raged as David sat in the gate
of the city of Jerusalem. When word came that the battle was won by David's forces,
and his son Absalom had been killed, David fled from the gate and went up in a
room on the wall and wept. Joab soon came to David and rebuked him for leaving
his seat where the old men and leaders sat. Joab predicted a rebellion of his
troops if David did not assure them that they had done well in battle. David at
once returned to his seat in the gate, and the troops were encouraged and remained
loyal to David. You,
my dear old preacher friend, belong in the gate teaching and motivating the young
warriors for Christ. You DO NOT belong on the front lines. You are deluded if
you believe you can wage war on Satan in hand to hand combat like you once did.
You should be there in the gate when the young warriors come home from the battle,
and praise their zeal and godly prowess. Where is the gate of the city in 2022?
The picnic table in your back yard, IHOP, the round table at the local cafe. Every
young warrior needs to know he can find his pastor "in the gate" when
he needs to talk about the victories and the defeats. When
the old Christian men no longer sit in the gate of the city, the joy is gone.
Jeremiah talks of this in his day: Lamentations
5:14 The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick. 15
The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning. I
used to visit the round table at the Hill Top Cafe, where the old farmers and
coon hunters gathered at the local cafe. You need an invitation to sit at that
table, but once you are there, you are privy to the priceless secrets and gossip
from your community. That knowledge will then tell you who to visit in the hospital
and where you can take the Gospel to a troubled soul. 4.
Whatever you do, sir, get off of Drudge. Stop clicking those mockeries of the
President on YouTube. What blasted good does that knowledge do you? And, to Hell
with the that Covid and vaccination conspiracy please. When you go to Facebook,
encourage, add humor, or exalt the Word of God. I am a member of three train groups.
They have no bad news to distract my mind. When a group starts making me have
morbid thoughts, CLICK, good bye y'all. If
you are a sho nuff country boy, you will love these Appalachian people on Facebook.
And, I hear more Gospel there than from some Christian sites I have visited. True
Appalachia hills people and places!
5.
Do you have a hobby robbing you of a healthy mind? It could be hunting or fishing.
Are you into guns and fishing tackle worth many thousands of dollars? You do not
need to be in and out of Bass Pro every five days to become ignorant and dull
spiritually, but it helps. You only need one rod to go pier fishing. And, you
only need one good rifle to shoot a deer. I have met a fair number of very spiritually
ignorant men who were fantastic hunters and had an arsenal of guns enough to wage
a small war.
Maybe
you are the dumb-as-a-rock fellow who has his head under a hood restoring a 1957
Chevy. You are wise to 327s and quarter race cams, but you are dumb as snot to
the Word of God. And, this can be a preacher. I have known a few. You imagine
that that 1938 Plymouth with a hemi head engine and slicks will win all the teen
age boys in town to you. It will, but how many of them will stay to pray and get
saved? There
is nothing more worthless than a preacher who is wise unto horsepower and stupid
as a Missouri hog unto the Word of God. Now,
what about YOUR hobby? I only hit on two common ones? I also told you above about
the preacher who was obsessed with John Wayne memorabilia. What seemingly innocent
hobby is calling you away from the wisdom in Christ? Ephesians
1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto
you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: What
are you "forgetting and leaving behind" in order to press toward the
mark for Christ?
TECHNOLOGY We
are far more technologically proficient than we are wise. And,
wherever technology is taking us, we are only partially in control. This is because
the producers of technology, and especially social media, have learned many tricks
to keep us addicted to technology. Most importantly, they have learned how not
to get caught drugging us with their products. Think
about this..... name one person in your life to whom you have become much more
devoted, and who needs you more, since you went on Facebook. Please count only
those not in your extended family. One, or maybe two? And, how many "friends"
do you have on Facebook? Sixty, or 260? So, what do you call the people whom you
have not grown closer to? Or, are you so drugged by Mr. Zuckerberg that you really
believe all 260 of your "friends" are devoted to you, and you to them?
Now,
since I just shocked you a bit, let me review the ways technology robs us of knowledge. Artificial
Intelligence Are
you going to let Artificial Intelligence do all your thinking and knowing for
you. We have all gotten quite addicted to Google Search. We merrily search and
search, while ignoring the fact that Google stores all our searches, profiles
us, and sells us to companies who then target us for advertising. And, then there
is the fact that the US Government finds ways to get our data and profile us without
consulting us to see if they really got it right. The most serious issue is this.....
Have we lost our sense of wonder, and have we forgotten the days when we had to
work at learning new things? You
may mock at my question if you want to, but I am convinced that Google, and many
other Internet sources, have made us lazy and ignorant of much about the world
around us. There are many things you cannot learn unless you go have coffee with
some old timer who has a full life of experience. I personally have a huge reservoir
of experience and knowledge of the world out there, and hardly ever am I asked
to respond to such things as, how to know when a leopard has been around, how
to cross the bottom of a volcano safely, what a Marxist coup feels like, how tea
is processed, and how to find Indian arrow heads in the Mojave Desert. If you
Google for these things, you will get pages of results. But, how do you know those
sources were there and experienced what they are talking about. The Web is loaded
with experts who are a lot more spert than they are ex. They are expert at copying
and pasting second hand information. Thoreau
believed that reality existed only in the spiritual world, and the solution to
people's problems was the free development of emotions ("Transcendentalism").
He was half right. Reality is founded in spiritual truth. This world all started
when God, who is a Spirit, spoke it all into existence. When Atheists deny there
is a spiritual foundation to life, they are paddling upstream with a tea spoon.
Every culture and tribe on earth has believed in spirits, beings from outside
of the human and physical experience. The
man who would have knowledge must make his quest a spiritual journey. Knowledge
on strictly human terms has an upper limit of a piece of baked sand, a computer
chip. There is no life in that knowledge, and it will not create anything or answer
life's questions. So,
get back to God, his creation, and his written manual of life for you, the Bible.
Cell
phones Please
watch these three TED Talks. You will be shocked at how modern phones change us.
And, ask yourself if that cell phone is making you more knowledgeable. SOCIAL
MEDIA AND CELL PHONES WILL DESTROY YOUR LIFE SIMON
SHOWS HOW CELL PHONES DUMB DOWN KIDS IF
YOU USE A SMART PHONE, YOUR ATTENTION SPAN IS LESS THAN A GOLD FISH'S. This
means you cannot retain anything you hear or see unless it took eight seconds
or less. I have found this in my own use of YouTube. I find that when I am killing
time on YouTube, and I watch some documentary on what should be a useful topic,
later, I cannot recall much beyond the basic plot. Details have dropped away,
and I find I know very little from the video that I can use later. Break
it down to this basic fact..... the more you poke at your smart phone, the stupider
you will become. I do not care if you don't like hearing that..... it is the truth.
And, you are becoming useless to God to fulfill his purpose in your life. Do
you feel insecure walking out the door without your cell phone, even to go check
the mail or carry out the garbage? You are addicted to that phone, and your mind
is becoming as worthless to you and God as a drug addict is worthless to society. What
is the solution? Answer:
Read books, starting with the Word of God. When you are visiting with friends,
and one of more of them is constantly on their cell phone, ask if everyone could
leave the phones alone and just visit. If they treat you like a violator of their
peace, you need new friends. Make
a point of spending time with older Christians, and ask them about the old ways
and days. When you meet strangers, make a practice of asking them their opinion
on some issue of the day. Make
a time to walk away from your cell phone, and see what it feels like to be off
of your leash. If you feel vulnerable doing this, contemplate that, until the
1990s, there was no leash to keep people suddenly available to the rest of the
world, and life was quite tolerable back then. Stop
taking social media like Facebook so seriously. Facebook friends live to present
themselves on FB to be anything but what they really are. And, you are doing the
same thing, and you check FB regularly for "likes" to see who you charmed.

Health
issues What
you eat, and how you care for your health, affects your mind. And, with a dull
mind you will gather less and less knowledge with which to serve the Lord and
survive in general. Bad
health is a distraction. Extreme obesity slows you down, both physically and mentally.
Your mind is always running to your next snack. Carbohydrates become you dope
to feel good. Eating
fast food adds all sorts of chemicals and unhealthy factors into your body and
mind, and research has proven that eating junk food makes you dumbed down. Feed
that diet to a child, and he will become mentally crippled. I have seen it when
I was doing substitute teaching in public schools. Exercise
is critical to clear thinking. If you walk regularly, you will agree with me that
your time walking often becomes a time to mentally sort out the cares of life. King
David knew that knowledge could be gained from God's creation. Psalms
19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. 3
There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. 4 Their line
is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In
them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, 5 Which is as a bridegroom coming
out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. The
place to learn from the havens is out in your back yard at least. Even better,
go to a place in the country where there are no city lights. Type "heavens"
into Google, and what you get is mental pabulum.
Online
YOU
MUST WATCH THIS
- THIS IS THE SAME MAN BUT A LONGER INTERVIEW You
will find a that this video borders on shock with some of the solutions to online
time. It is only ten minutes long. With
so little of your life in the "personal" category, the time when you
grow personally, how much of it is online? I don't care how useful your online
adventures seem, you are in cyberspace, and the real world where you can grow,
meet live friends, and use your sense of wonder is blocked out. What
does this have to do with ignorance and knowledge? We already established that
the online world will give you the attention span of a gold fish. How much of
your online time will survive that fact and end up in long term memory? If you
send nothing into long term memory, you will not have the resources later in life
to solve problems. THAT IS WHY YOU ARE A GOOGLE FREAK. You are too dumb to reason,
and your long term memory is becoming a black hole. Are
you starting to get the picture? As long as you can push the power button, you
are 100% to blame if you are a mental midget. It has been you choice all along,
and now you know what you have to do. Indeed, if you do not finish this article
and power down right now, and go for a walk, you will make my day friend.

TALKS- I strongly suggest that, if you want online time to add knowledge to your
hard drive, search Ted Talks. Some of their topics are disgusting, but they are
famous for finding people to talk about things they have done themselves or researched
seriously. HOW
TO TAKE BACK YOUR LIFE AND MIND FROM SMARTPHONE AND SOCIAL MEDIA THOROUGHLY
CONSCIOUS IGNORANCE Stuart Firestein talks about identifying what you are
ignorant of with a view to finding knowledge to eliminate that ignorance. Pastors
should watch this. Sir, what are you doing when you teach the Bible to the people?
Are you giving them loads of facts which you expect them to remember? Or, are
you lighting a fire in them to hunger and thirst after righteousness and find
if themselves? If you want a church full of robots, keep loading on the facts.
If you want noble Bereans, who search "to see if these things be true,"
then you must draw them into the fact gathering process. In other words, you must
stop trying to be the center of attention and the brain boss.
