THE GOSPEL

This is mainly a message to Christians who confessed their faith in Jesus Christ long ago, but someone has been trying to make them doubt their salvation.

Perhaps they have sinned, and they are far from God. This is the point at which we all are tempted to believe God has thrown us away. Perhaps you are in such a situation. I hope this study of the Gospel of Jesus Christ helps you.

Here is a letter from someone who was arrested and made new by our precious Savior:

Mr. Van Nattan,

I'm not sure if this e-mail address is valid, active, or checked any longer. However, given the small chance anyone reads this, I would like to share the following facts:
5 years ago: I was a wholehearted lover of the secular world. (Satan, actually.)
4 years ago: I used drugs for the first time.
3 years ago: I tried to commit suicide.
2 years ago: I failed out of college.
(November, 2004: By the grace of God I was saved through faith in Christ Jesus.)
1 year ago: Everything I learned about Christian life was from CCM radio. I suppose that should make me very scared. Also, I used "bibles" ranging from the NIV to "The Message."

But the Lord has continued to pursue me although I do not deserve it in the least. And, sir, I'd like you to know, that earlier this week, I discarded every translation save for the authorized KJV.

Blessed be the Lord Almighty. I pray this continues.

Thank you for your time.

FIRST THOUGHTS:

Perhaps you have heard someone "preach the Gospel," or you read a small paper tract which was handed to you. In this very brief message, you heard some things which seemed urgent, but you did not find within you the urge to believe anything. Perhaps you believed what you heard up to a point, but the whole message seemed a bit vague or doctrinaire-- pushy-- threatening.

The Gospel is often presented in a sincere way by well meaning people, but they are trying to communicate something eternally urgent in a couple of minutes. Some of these people are less than sincere, and they are simply trying to feel zealous in themselves by finding people to talk to about the faith of Jesus Christ.

Recently, as I was reading The Gospel of John, I realized that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is both simple and deep. The problem many Christians have, after 2000 years of the history of the Church of Jesus Christ, is that they were born again in their youth, and they have never felt the unbelief many people in this world feel. I believe that the Gospels in the Bible, of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, were written for a very good reason. They are the record which will convince the sincere seeker that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. The whole issue of faith, belief, is determined by your zeal to learn about Jesus Christ. No amount of sincere reasoning and preaching will substitute for simply reading, for example, the Gospel of John.

The Epistle to the Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him:
for he that cometh to God must believe that he is,
and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

If you are going to believe, and be rewarded for your diligence, you will have to learn about Jesus Christ, who he was, what he did, what he taught, how he died and rose again from death, what it takes to believe, and what he said about the future. Jesus said, in Matthew 7:7-8, "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened."

One man, when confronted with the person of Jesus Christ, felt both the sense of belief in Jesus, while he also felt some unbelief:

The Gospel of Mark, 9:23 Jesus said unto him,
If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
24 And straightway the father of the child cried out,
and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

Jesus brought deliverance to the man and his son, who was possessed of devils, based on the man's belief. Jesus Christ is in the business of helping your unbelief. Will you look into his life?

WHO IS GOD?

Many people have no real concept of who God is. Many people assume that there is a God. But, how does a person really meet God? The answer is, meet Jesus Christ, and you will meet God. The Bible teaches that there is a Godhead, which is One God, and yet this Godhead is made of three persons who are fully God and fully equal in the Godhead. So, if you could meet Jesus Christ, you would meet God the Father as well.

The Epistle to the Hebrews, 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in
divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath
appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person,
and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself
purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Verse 3 says that Jesus is the "express image" of God the Father. If you will take time to meet Jesus Christ in the Gospel of John, you will meet God the Father. Arrogant people will say to me, "Show me God, and I will believe." But, they refuse to read the Gospel of John, or any of the other three Gospels. So, they will never meet God the Father. Jesus said to Philip, one of his disciples in John 14:7-9, "If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?"

WHO IS THE HOLY GHOST?

There is chaos in Christian circles these days as alleged Christians try to force God the Spirit, called the Holy Spirit and the Holy Ghost in the Bible, to make a show for them at the church house and large rallies where high powered evangelists perform wonders. The word Ghost in this context is the old English word for Spirit, nothing more. The modern use of the word has taken on a spooky context which is not implied in the Bible.

God the Holy Ghost will not be forced to act, and he will not come forward. Jesus Christ is the member of the Godhead whom you have to get to know,
and God the Holy Ghost will help you to learn about Jesus.

The Gospel of John, 14:25 These things have I spoken unto you,
being yet present with you.
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name,
he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said unto you.

The Gospel of John, 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth;
It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away,
the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin,
and of righteousness, and of judgment:

So, you need not figure out when the Holy Ghost is working in or for you. He only does holy and righteous work, and that work is to help you understand who Jesus Christ is. Study the Gospel of John, and if you are serious and want help with your unbelief, God the Holy Ghost will be silently and sweetly helping you to understand what you are reading.

WHO IS JESUS CHRIST?

So, here is the great question? Do you really want to know who Jesus Christ is?

The Godhead does not come in parts, like 33-1/3% each. Each person of the Godhead is 100% God, and yet all three are one God and cannot be separated. There is virtually NO earthly illustration of the Godhead, and I ask you to reject ANY effort to give an earthly or human model of the Godhead. The ONLY way to understand the Godhead, and how you need to respond to the Godhead, is to learn about Jesus Christ. If you will not look into the Word of God for the answer, you will never understand, and you will always, ALWAYS, have problems with unbelief, like the fellow above.

Jesus is not an add-on to your existing life.
Jesus is not a cool head sort of hippie member of the Godhead.
Jesus is not your "Home Boy" as some diddle heads believe.
Jesus is not a CCM jive heart throb.

Many preachers and friends of yours will try to tell you about Jesus the free ride, Jesus the no brain God, Jesus who demands nothing of you, Jesus the two minute Savior, Jesus with no pain, Jesus of no fear, Jesus of no price to pay.

There is no such Jesus.

Jesus is the eternal God, and he is totally committed to proving that to you, IF you want to meet him.

What is the price you pay if you make no effort to meet the historic and true Jesus in the Gospel of John?

Hell!

The Gospel of John, 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life:
and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

God's wrath is ON you right now, but at the same time, Jesus Christ has done what was needed to deliver you from God's wrath. Would you read 21 chapters of the Gospel of John to find out who Jesus is and how to believe in him?

If not, you will one day go to sleep for the last time, and you will wake up in hell with your soul on fire.

Read 21 short chapters.... Is that too much trouble to go to for the saving of your eternal soul?

Hit the hot links below, and you can read and listen, if that helps, and take your time. If you don't understand every detail, just keep reading. God the Holy Ghost will help you. Pray to God, and ask him, "Lord, I believe, help thou my unbelief. I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ."

WHO ARE YOU?

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST ACCORDING TO JOHN

SAVED?

Did someone once ask you, "Are you saved?" You may have thought you were, or you may have had no idea what the questioner was talking about. Sometimes the questioner does not have much of an idea what HE is talking about.

If you read through the Gospel of John as I suggested, you now can decide if you are saved or not.
Here are the key verses which you read in Chapter 20:

The Gospel of John, 20:29 Jesus saith unto him,
Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed:
blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence
of his disciples, which are not written in this book:
31 But these are written, that ye might believe that
Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing
ye might have life through his name.

Thomas believed after seeing Jesus in the flesh after Jesus rose from death. Jesus was pleased that Thomas believed, but he gave a special blessing to anyone who would read this Gospel and believe later-- anyone who had NOT seen Jesus in the flesh. That is you. Verse 30-31 make this clear. John the disciple of Jesus, who was later called John the Apostle, said that he wrote this account of the life of Jesus so that you COULD believe.

Do you believe that Jesus Christ is everything that John said he was in his Gospel?

Do you agree with Jesus Christ that you are a guilty sinner, without hope, and only Jesus' death and resurrection will pay the price to buy you back from damnation and hell?

Do you believe that, even if your life is not exciting and glorious after you confess your faith in Jesus Christ, you MUST confess your faith in him without shame? He deserves your submission to him for dying for you, and he asked you to tell other people you believe in him.

If you say, "Yes," you are "saved," you "have life," you are born again. This is so simple that some people find it hard to believe that their eternal destiny can be secured by such simple faith. Yet, as you can see from reading, the Gospel is profound. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is not a light story at all. This is the central story of all human history.

Did you believe that Jesus Christ had to die in your place to take your sin on himself and make you eternally God's child? Did you believe that Jesus rose from death and has returned to heaven? Do you believe God the Holy Ghost has come to comfort you? If you believed what you were told by God in the Gospel of John, you are God's eternal child, and he will never let go of you.

NEVER let anyone talk you out of your new found faith and salvation in Jesus Christ. People will try to tell you that you need to do something more, add something, seek some power from above, get a second work by God in your life, and so on. Some alleged Bible teacher may tell you you need to finish surrendering, or "make Jesus Lord of your life" before you can be sure you are saved or born again. These are a lies.

You believe, so you are saved and born again. Of course there are many more things about the Godhead, that is, The Father, The Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, which you will learn as you read more of the Bible. You will learn more things about yourself and how to live with other believers. But, you are now as saved as you will ever be. NOTHING needs to be added to your present belief and faith and standing whith Jesus Christ.

Jesus went looking for a fellow he had healed. He wanted to know one thing of the man. Please notice what JESUS wants to know from you:

John 9:35 Jesus heard that they had cast him (a certain Jew) out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?
36 He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?
37 And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.
38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.

Can you follow the simple acts of faith and worship of Jesus Christ that that men did, or must you say, "No, I cannot believe the account of John. I am not sure Jesus can really save me"?

Well, as we read above, the wrath of God abides on you, and you will have to go to hell one day in your unbelief. Could it be that you should read the Gospel again with an open heart? Did you read as a skeptic, looking for ways to disbelieve? Your eternal destiny is at stake here. Should you ask for help from God? "Lord, help thou mine unbelief."

A word to Calvinists, Catholics, Orthodox, Primitive Baptists, and people in Reformed Churches:

If you believe you are saved because you were baptized as a baby, catechized, and confirmed, you are on your way to hell. No church can "confirm" your standing with God. Your parents' faith, and your good godly Dutch, German, Catholic, or Reformed heritage be damned. ONLY faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, AND confessing it to men, as above, will save you.

2 Peter 1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

If you added all the virtues in verse 5 through 7, but you refuse to confess FAITH in Jesus Christ up front, and confess it to ungodly men (not just your Christian friends) YOU ARE GOING TO HELL. Why?

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Take action NOW. Confess your faith in Jesus Christ to men. And, if some effete snob Reformed Domini, or some Catholic unFather, tells you otherwise, they too are damned to hell for teaching heresy. Find another Bible teacher at once.

WHAT NEXT?

Tell someone!

Here is what the Apostle Paul wrote as God the Holy Ghost inspired him:

The Epistle of Paul to the Romans, 10:8 But what saith it?
The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart:
that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;
and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him
shall not be ashamed.

Verse 8 says that, now that you are born again-- saved, you have the exact same message IN YOU that the Apostle Paul preached-- "the word of faith."

Confess with your mouth means tell people what happened to you in your own way and words. Believe in your heart is what you already have done.

You are saved. Your mouth talks about what good things are IN you. You are believing in The Lord Jesus Christ, and you will want to talk about him. Just find any way you can to bring Jesus Christ into conversation with friends.

When you sense that someone you know or meet is not born again, that they are self-righteous, head for the law. Once your have them talking, make a sinner of them by using God's law.

Verse 11 encourages you to never be ashamed of Jesus Christ. He is not ashamed of you. He died for you. He paid the price to save you. Talk about him, OK?

IF YOU HAVE DOUBTS

This is not some earth shaking thing. Our minds can fall into doubt after we are born again. We can conclude that nothing happened because we did not FEEL something or get the warm fuzzies when we believed in Jesus Christ. Some people do, but if you do not, is there something wrong?

God does not doubt the genuineness of our salvation, but we can fall into doubt. Sin can bring this on us. Sometimes we think too much, and earthly philosophy causes us to brood and wonder. Assurance is needed. May I ask you to also look up the Epistle John the Apostle who gave us the sweetest letter of assurance of our salvation? Read the First Chapter of John's Epistle. This book is almost at the very end of the Bible. As John encouraged you in Chapter One, confess any sin in your life. Then read the whole book looking for the key words, "We Know." My Dad often preached on this book to give saved people assurance of their salvation. Do not feel ashamed of your doubts, but please don't let them brew up any longer. Let The Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Living Word, lift the doubts right now.

1 John (This is not the Gospel of John which is above)
1 2 3 4 5

The Epistle of 1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come,
and hath given us an understanding,
that we may know him that is true,
and we are in him that is true,
even in his Son Jesus Christ.
This is the true God, and eternal life.

The Apostle John also wrote this in the same letter to Christians:

The Epistle of 1 John 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given
to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not
the Son of God hath not life.
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on
the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye
have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name
of the Son of God.

MORE VERSES TO GIVE YOU ASSURANCE
THAT JESUS WILL NOT THROW YOU AWAY

The Epistle of Hebrews 10:35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

The Epistle of Hebrews 2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.

The Epistle of Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

The Epistle to the Philippians 1:3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,

The Epistle to the Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

If any preacher or priest tries to help you question your salvation, that is, your new standing with God in Jesus Christ, that person is damned to hell. Only Satan and his helpers try to give doubts to believers in Jesus. If a preacher claims that your lack of zeal for certain Christian works or activities proves you are not born again, curse that preacher and never listen to him again.

If any preacher tells you that you are not saved for sure until you quit smoking or have complete victory in your life over your old sins, that preacher is a devil. Tell him so, and flee.

If any preacher tells you that you are not saved because you cannot speak in tongues, curse him in Spanish, and flee. Here is some tongues you can give him in Swahili: "Wewe ni pumbafu pasito." (You are a worthless pastor) Lay that "tongues" on him and ask for an interpretation.

This is VERY serious because many preachers and Bible teachers today are actually secret agents for Satan, and they specialize in bringing new believers in Jesus into doubt. Damn them.

THERE ARE SOME WICKED HERETICS OUT THERE.

THEY SOUND LIKE CHRISTIANS, BUT THEY HAVE
THIS STRANGE NEED TO CONVINCE OTHER CHRISTIANS
THAT THEY CAN LOSE THEIR SALVATION.

Read the following where Jesus Christ is speaking:

The Gospel of John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

These mongrels who tell you that you can lose your salvation will say something like this, "No one can take you out of Jesus' hand, but YOU can take yourself out of Jesus' hand." They missed the point in three serious ways:

1. I am my own worst enemy. You are your own worst enemy. When we sin we get feelings of guilt, and we can easily start believing that we have taken ourselves out of Jesus' hand.

2. Note verse 29 above. Does it mean that the Father is greater than "all" except you. Are you greater than God the Father? If not, then he is greater than YOU, and YOU cannot pluck yourself out of his hand.

3. Why would Jesus Christ die on the cross, go to hell for you, and raise from the dead only to lose control of the saving process and drop you into hell? Is your Jesus all powerful? Is there any verse that says God made a way for you to lose your salvation? There is NONE.

So, these wicked spoilers, who would try to get you unsaved by planting doubt in your mind, are devils. Ignore them, and rebuke them.

I want to tell you that God plans for you to have victory and to grow stronger and closer to himself day by day.

The Epistle to the Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

God gave the church, which is you and your new Christian friends, the above men to help you become more and more like Jesus Christ. If your pastor, teacher, and Christian friends are hindering your Christian growth, look for new fellowship until you find Christians who help you go forward in your new Christian life.

Someone may question your faith in Jesus Chrsit by demanding to know if you were sincere about repenting of your sins. If you came to know Jesus in The Gospel of John, you leanred that sin, especially yours, was washed away when Jesus died on the cross. Certainly, no one who thinks they are not a sinner can be saved. But, that is not because Jesus will not forgive them. It is because they don't yet believe Jesus well enough to understand that sin is a big issue. When someone moves on from seeing their sin to believe Jesus is the Son of God, they are born again.

Jesus is so eager to forgive your sin that when you finally confess with your mouth that you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, Jesus takes your sin away as part of his work of making you a new person:

Acts 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

Forgiveness comes with the package of salvation. It is not a separate event.

Can you imagine getting rid of your old beat up car, all dirty and dented, and receiving a new car? Suppose the car dealer carefully transferred all the trash in your old car, and all the dirt on the old car, and all the dents in the fenders to your new car. You would ask, "Why did you do that?" Suppose the dealer said, "Well, I know you are getting a new car, but you did not ask for a CLEAN new car. Drive it this way for a few days, and we will clean up your new car after you really believe it is your new car." You would run for cover.

Once you acknowledge that Jesus is the Son of God, the verse above says he takes your sin away. You don't have to wring your hands, wail, and flog yourself over it-- simply confess your faith in Jesus Christ, and your sin is gone.

It is part of the nature of Jesus Christ to hate sin, and when he brings anyone a new life, the old life with all the sin and guilt is trashed, gone, and washed away by his shed Blood. In fact, your sin was washed away almost 2000 years ago when he died on the cross. Your faith in Jesus Christ brings you up to date with that reality because Jesus earned the right to make you clean.

Stop letting tricky Christians and creepy preachers try to put the old sin life back on you and claim you are not really born again yet.

DOES GOD LEAVE SOME PEOPLE OUT?

NO!

There are those, often called Reformed or Calvinists, who claim that God elects an élite few to salvation, and the rest he is content to send to hell. Here is proof that this teaching is heresy:

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

One man said, "If the plain sense makes good sense, don't look for any other sense." Without referring back to that murderous lawyer of Geneva, John Calvin, ask yourself what this means-- "The Lord.... is not willing that any should perish." How big is "any." Only a perverted theologian from a demented seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan could change "any" into "few." Do all people get "saved?" No, but that does not mean God likes it that way. Men have to choose to be lost and go to hell on purpose. God does not WANT them there. Flee from these creeps who teach that God wants sinners in hell, and go tell some unsaved friend about Jesus.

God loved the world without reservations:

John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

God has made every provision for you and all men to be born again by faith in Jesus Christ. So, it is not a matter of whether God approves of YOU in particular as a candidate for life and heaven. It is all about YOU and whether you will bow before Jesus Christ and confess your faith in him as the Son of God and your Savior and deliverer from sin. God, as seen above, is not willing that you should die in sin and go to hell.

You have everything in your favor but one thing. Your pride. If you cannot be convinced of salvation by the Word of God, you have never seen yourself as a sinner and condemned to hell. You must go outside the city with Jesus and be crucified, and NEVER return to the city. You can never look back once you belong to Jesus.

God has brought Jesus Christ into the world to prove he loves you, but also to prove you are wicked and damned to hell. He has given you all the light you need to believe his message, the Gospel.

John 1:6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

John the Baptist was a prophet of God, and he tells us that Jesus Christ is the Light of the world, and he lights every man who comes into the world. Though your spirit is dead in sin, God has sent the Light of Jesus Christ to shine in your heart and mind and show you the way to new life.

Here is what one godly old saint said when he heard that Jesus, the Messiah, had come to Israel:

Luke 2:30 For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
31 Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;
32 A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

Do you see the critical three letter work-- all. God had that "all" spoken into the Bible just for you, a Gentile. You are one of the "all," and God sent Jesus to enlighten you.

You have been given enough light to believe in Jesus Christ-- will you do so? Will you act upon the light you have and confess your faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God?

Never believe anyone who tells you that God has purposely left some men out of the Light.

Isaiah 40:10 Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

Let God gather you to himself-- he leads ever so gently:

Psalms 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

This gentle Good Shepherd is your Savior, if you will have him.

WHO IS THE SON OF GOD?

This is not a pleasant discussion for it deals with some people who have made themselves heretics, but it is essential so that you will understand that Jesus Christ is eternal God. Most importantly, you must understand that Jesus Christ always was eternal God. This is true to the extent that he was the SON of God from eternity past, not just from the womb of Mary, his earthly mother.

1 John 2:21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

In as much as any group tampers with the truth about Jesus Christ, in that teaching they damn themselves to hell. Billy Graham says Jesus is not the only way to salvation, that is, Buddhists who are sincere, and yet reject Jesus, will be received into heaven. Billy Graham damned his soul to eternal hell fire for that trick.

The United Pentecostals say Jesus, the Father, and the Holy Spirit are the same single person. They claim that one person simply calls himself by three different names. They will go to hell for that lie. The Mormons say Jesus is a dirty old man with a harem. They are damned to hell. The Muslims say Jesus is only a prophet and not the Son of God. They are damned to hell.

I hear lots of "Amens".

Now, there are alleged Fundamentalists who say Jesus is not the eternal Son of God. They have a neo-Gnostic teaching that Jesus became the Son of God when he was born to Mary. They claim that the sonship of Jesus Christ did not exist until he was born humanly. "Begotten", to them, has no relationship to eternity past. These people have another Jesus. Hell enlargeth her mouth for them.

Some of our "narrow way" men teach that Jesus could have sinned. They do not have our Jesus.

Jack Hyles taught that Jesus was a senior citizen. That is blasphemy. Friend, if you want to go to heaven and live with Jesus Christ for eternity, you better not give in to this cute rubbish of trying to reinvent Jesus and put your patent on him and his Word.

Do King James Only men fix Jesus Christ?

In his THEOLOGICAL STUDIES booklet (pg. 15), Dr. Peter S. Ruckman asserts that "begotten Son" refers to Jesus' physical birth, and he teaches that "begotten" means "created" (also in THE LAST GRENADE, pg. 71, and BIBLICAL SCHOLARSHIP, pg. 198). Dr. Ruckman alleges that John 1:18 means "created Son."

John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

In this verse, Jesus is in the bosom of the Father, NOT the bosom of Mary. In this, Ruckman and his Muslim and Mormon friends are Roman Catholics, for he makes the Son of God the product of human generation. The Pope loves that one.

If this is true about Dr. Peter Ruckman, he is going to hell. He, and all who meddle with the biblical Jesus Christ, are antichrists. This is not shocking. We are at the end of the age, so we must anticipate the defection of many. Also, we must mark them for what they are (Rom. 16:17-18).

1 John 4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

The order of the verse makes it clear that Jesus Christ was the Son of God BEFORE he came into the world.

Psalms 2:7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

"This day" is the eternal day of God.

Now, here is the account of the three Hebrew young man who would not bow to the pagan image. They were cast into a burning furnace to punish them for their zeal for Jehovah God.

Daniel 3:23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.
25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

Who is the "Son of God" in Daniel who appeared to King Nebuchadnezzar hundreds of years before Jesus was born to Mary? That Son of God was Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God. Any preacher who claims to believe that Jesus was eternal God is a liar if he does not mean that Jesus was the ETERNAL Son of God.

You better leave Jesus Christ exactly who he is in the Word of God, or you too will burn in hell.

Did you ever wonder why Jesus Christ could not have an earthly father-- why he had to be born of a virgin? Well, the only explanation given by most Bible teachers is that sin came by Adam, our human father. If a human man had produced Jesus Christ he would have passed sin on to him. This is true, but it is not the bedrock of the virgin birth.

Grab hold please. This will stir you.

Jesus could have an earthly mother, for there is no mother in heaven nor in the Godhead. But, Jesus Christ already had a Father in heaven before he was conceived in Mary's womb by the Holy Ghost. He had already been begotten by the Father in eternity past. If Jesus had another father in Bethlehem, he would have become a bastard in heaven. God cannot share his headship with man.

So, God worked a miracle in the womb of Mary, and God the Holy Ghost caused her to conceive without a human sinful man being involved. This assured that, in his humanity, Jesus continued to be the sinless Son of the Living God, as the Bible states.

Now, here is the final and glorious thought. When you are born again, you cease to be the product of humanity. You become a son of God, a joint heir with Jesus Christ. Your family becomes God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost, and every other believer in Jesus Christ is your brother and sister. You are as much in the family of heaven as Jesus Christ is.

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

2 Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Ephesians 3:21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Did you ladies see that? God has daughters also.

Galatians 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Jesus Christ was made by a woman for 33 years so he could die, bleed to death to wash your sins away, and raise from death to prove he was....

....The Son of God begotten from eternity past with all power in heaven and earth.

"Abba" Father, we praise you for sending your Son to buy us out of the slave market of sin and hell.

I grew up in Africa in a missionary home. My African play mates called their father "Baba." Later, when my wife and I were missionaries in Ethiopia, we heard the kids there call their father "Abate." In Arabic, Abbas, and in Hebrew, we see "Abba." Do you know what these words all are in these several languages? They are the exact linguistic equivalent in English of our word, "Daddy." It is a very personal place in a very special family that you have, my dear saint.

Close, so very close to God,
Closer I could not be;
For in the person of his Son,
I'm just as close as he.

Dear, so very dear to God,
Dearer I could not be;
For in the person of his Son,
I'm just as close as he.

When the will is read in heaven-- when God the Father hands all the glory, all the praise, and all the majesty of heaven to Jesus Christ for eternity, you will receive those precious gifts with him.

My dear friend, please do not miss the eternal glory. Please do not miss being a son of God with Jesus Christ. If you are in Jesus Christ, you are not a servant, you are a son. If you are not in Jesus Christ, why not? God will not permit anyone in his heaven who will not now confess his faith in Jesus Christ, and worship him.

John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
30 I and my Father are one.

A sweeter promise was never made.

Matthew 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Come to Jesus!

If you read this page through without reading the WHOLE Gospel of John, you may still not know Jesus Christ well enough. You cannot ultimately and personally know him without reading about him in the Word of God. Please go now to the links to the Gospel of John below.

You must understand something:

The most sincere preacher on earth cannot speak to you with the power that the written Word of God has. The Bible, unlike any other book in human history, is the personal letter from a living God to men he loves. There is power in the Gospel of John to convince you, to bring you to love Jesus Christ, and to set you free from the rat race of today, and the shame of your past.

You cannot be too far gone, too filthy with sin, for God to reach you and save you.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST ACCORDING TO JOHN

A 9/11 STORY: IN MY SEAT

WHAT IF YOU DO NOTHING ABOUT THE GOSPEL?

The message to you is deadly. I cannot persuade you to keep looking at Jesus Christ, for you looked at him, and you are bored or unconvinced. So, God wants me to show you the alternative:

Felix was a governor of the Roman empire who was willing to listen to Paul. Felix listened, he even trembled at the prospect of his eternal future, but he said, basically, "Later Paul."

Acts 24:24 And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ.
25 And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

Paul spoke of righteousness- You have none, and Felix had none, and when you stand before God at his judgment seat, you will have no good thing that will impress God.

Paul spoke of temperance- You have none. You have sinned, as have all men. If you reject the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ in your place, the evidence that you are still a sinner will be abundant when you stand before God.

Paul spoke about judgment- You may pretend it will never happen to you, but you WILL stand before God one day, and he will ask you, "What did you do with Jesus, my Son?"

After you answer, "Nothing," here is what God will do with you.

Psalms 7:11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Why should a holy God, who offered you salvation and your sins forgiven in this life, let you into his heaven with your mind and soul full of sin and filth? You are a rebel, and hell is hot. I would suggest you rethink your arrogant rejection of the free gift of salvation in Jesus Christ.

I warned you. Your blood will not be on my hands.

You did not read the word "repent" above much. That is because this page is mainly for people in the Lord's Church who have developed doubts. They needed to be encouraged and reminded the God will never throw them away. I can give you no hope unless you will indeed REPENT. You need to look at The Lord Jesus Christ and cry out to God for the faith to believe in him.

Nothing else matters much really.
