ASYMMETRIC CHRISTIAN WARFARE
AND DESTROYING THE ENEMY BY STEALTH

PART FIVE: THE OTHER SIDE OF
ASYMMETRIC CHRISTIAN WARFARE

By Steve Van Nattan

I find it very helpful to think of Satan as the Ultimate Terrorist. He doesn’t fight fair, he doesn’t play by
the rules, and he attacks us when we least expect it.We can make war better than he does through Christ.

Regular posts give you tactical suggestions in your Christian warfare,
and Christian warriors report on
the battle.

PART ONE of this study deals with the biblical and historic traditions of Asymmetric Christian warfare.

PART TWO deals with 90 tactics of warfare for the Bible believer.

PART THREE deals with the editor's personal experiences in Asymmetric Christian Warfare as well as that of two noted men of God.

PART FOUR looks at some ethical and practical functions of Asymmetric Christian Warfare.

In PART FIVE we raise the caution that the warrior must also be gentle and patient with the weak Bible believer and the victims of Satan and his servants.

PART FIVE: THE OTHER SIDE OF ASYMMETRIC CHRISTIAN WARFARE

There is a tendency for Christian warriors to look for nothing to do but destroy the works of Satan. In this section, left for the end, I want to call you back to use your asymmetric skills to obey the command of Jesus,

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

NEVER subject any sinner to Asymmetric Christian Warfare who is not a representative of the enemy, Satan. The down trodden sinner needs to be born again, that is certain. But, we need to make our Jesus the FRIEND of sinners. One way to do this is to show the sinner that YOU are like Jesus, and you want that sinner to have an abundant life. What would be better than to make sure an asymmetric event happens for the benefit of a lost sinner who is in bondage to Satan in the flow of life.

What will impress a lost sinner best-- an invitation to a church house based event, or being asked to join you for a cup of coffee and pie at the nearby cafe? THINK

And, this is not about staged tricks. The Improv Anywhere people go to massive preparation to stage their events, and they are a lot of fun to watch. But, we are not about staged events. We are about people, one by one. So, the rule applies here just as in Asymmetric Christian Warfare-- keep your charity sudden, spontaneous, and see how you can bring Christ to the moment, that is, to some whipped sinner.

LET NOT YOUR GOOD BE EVIL SPOKEN OF

While Asymmetric Christian Warfare is easily proven legitimate by biblical stories of Asymmetric Warfare, it is also necessary to consider what other Bible believers think of your actions. There are times when no one needs to know about your actions, but often people will learn about them.

You will find those who believe we must be nice to the wicked, even while the wicked are destroying the local church. Persecution is going to come to true Bible believers and their local churches, but this in no way implies that we not defend the sheep from the wolf. This is why we are ordered by Paul to put on the armor of God for battle.

So, be ready to reason with the weak minded in the faith. Use this text:

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Resisting means to battle down the Satanic people who attack the Lord's Church.

Romans 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

Divisions and offenses within the local church are the most deadly and common form of attack of Satan and his servants. These must be met head on, and any pastor who will not confront the wicked who do harm in the local church must be confronted also. He may turn out to be an agent provocateur and sent to do the work of Satan. I fully believe that more and more pastors in local churches today are not at all born again and are there to lead Christians into contrary doctrines and to do wicked acts like bedding down silly women and destroying the testimony of the church in the community.

So, when some saint expresses concern over Christian warfare, here is your task, and please note the need for gentleness and instruction:

2 Timothy 2:24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

EVERY PERSON NEEDS FIFTEEN MINUTES OF FAME

This is a fantastic time for asymmetric warfare. Satan gives kudos only to the wicked.

Suppose you see a child who looks a bit ordinary, bored, and maybe even troubled by the flow of life. What can you do to make that child's day, month, or lifetime? Our instinct is to say, "Take him to Sunday School so he can hear the Gospel." That is regular Christian warfare. You are called to better things.

Here is a young girl who simply thought that the man should get a coin to reward him for playing his bass vile. Watch what happens next, and ask yourself, "Will any memory she has the during rest of her life be more priceless to her?"

And, what will the girl's Daddy and Mommy carry away with themselves emotionally?

NEVER be shy about taking time for just one person. Jesus did not die on the cross for the whole world in some mass evangelism sense. While he died for the sins of the whole world, he clearly showed by his own ministry that he intends for us to seek lost souls one by one. Preachers give the impression that mass rallies and meetings are noble. That is blasphemy. Stopping to tell one child about how much Jesus loves him is exactly what Jesus did, and so must you.

This applies to all ages. Dr. Walter Wilson was walking in a large city one day. A young man came up to him, poked his finger in Dr. Wilson's face, and said, "Do you know that if you are not born again, you will go to Hell?" Dr. Wilson said, with some anger, "What's it to you?" The young man withered and did not know what to say next. Dr. Wilson put his arm around the fellow's shoulders and asked him to sit down and talk. Dr. Wilson then lovingly rebuked him for his lack of love and personal feeling for the people he was trying to witness to. Dr. Wilson then told the fellow to go sit on a bus bench nearby next to an old man, and just start an ordinary conversation with the man, and see how he could turn the conversation around to Jesus and the Gospel. Dr. Wilson told the young man he would be nearby praying for him all the time.

The young man did as Dr. Wilson instructed him, and Dr. Wilson went into serious prayer for the soul of the old man. The end of the story was that the young man got to lead the old man to Christ and salvation.

Discuss this account in your gathering of men. What two lessons do you learn from it?

A MERRY HEART IS GOOD LIKE A MEDICINE

The following video went so viral that you may have already seen it, but it was unique, in that, the men did not wait around to be thanked or appreciated. Their acts of kindness were somewhat staged, but only in that they had to have some cash on had, and they had to go to some trouble to pull it off.

When I go into the market place, I usually make sure I have a five or ten dollar bill in my wallet. I also ask the Lord to lead me to some opportunity to make some kid happy. Most of the time this does not turn up, or maybe I was not paying close attention.

One day I was in Goodwill Industries store looking for something, and as I walked along, a Hispanic kid was talking to his Mom, asking her if he could buy a toy on the shelf. She gently told him she could not buy it for him that day. I took out a five dollar bill, and I asked the Mom if I could buy it for her boy. She, of course, said I did not have to do that. I told her, "This is not charity. This is my way of giving as a Christian. I do not only give at the church on Sunday." She smiled and gave in at once. I told the kid that the toy was given to him by Jesus. His eyes got big, he had probably heard of Jesus from his parents. And, his Mom was almost in tears as I walked off. Now, what do you think that kid thinks about Jesus? And, how do you think I felt? There is no rush bigger than knowing you made some kid's day, and his Mom or Dad happy as well.

KALA SHOWS US HOW THIS IS DONE

WOULD YOU LET THE GARBAGE MAN HUG YOUR KID?
Discuss the lasting effects of this on the boy and on O Dee.

SOMETIMES THE OPPORTUNITY TO BRING JOY IS MONUMENTAL

You walk into a restaurant and order. You then see an older lady, her bag of possessions next to her, sitting quietly with a glass of milk and French fries in front of her. Her color is dull, like that of a malnourished person. You realize that poor meal is probably all she could afford. What will you do?

A Black kid is with his Mom in the super market, and you hear him ask his Mom why they never have grapes anymore. His Mom says, "We cannot afford them right now." You look into her cart and see no booze or tobacco or junk food. This is serious stuff, my dear fellow warrior. Someone has recently had a big financial slump in their life. So, what will you do?

You get into your car after shopping, and you see the guy next too you staring into his car window. His groceries are in the cart ready to load into his car. Will you ask him what the problem is? And, if his keys are locked in, will you offer to run him home to get another key and back? It will be a lot of trouble, right? But, you will have a captive audience going and coming for a pretty long time, right? What will you do?

Please do not get so charged up about destroying the works of Satan that you forget to do good works for Jesus Christ.

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
