GOOD BOOKS

All of the books here are public domain, or we have permission to post them. If you want to reuse them, you need to check about copyright dates and conditions for posting or distributing.

These are books I consider good reading for a Bible believer. I have added some secular books, especially about Texas and the US Southwest. This is simply because I like them, and you should want to learn more about such a fantastic part of the world. I say that, as always, in all humility :-)

OTHER TRUE ADVENTURE, EXPLORATION, AND MANLY BOOKS

WILD BEASTS AND THEIR WAYS: REMINISCENCES OF EUROPE, ASIA, AFRICA, AND AMERICA
By Sir Samuel White Baker
Baker tells how to hunt big game with big guns and lots of raw nerve. He hunted in the Africa and Asia when they were unknown. He is a classic illustration of what Teddy Roosevelt called the vigorous man. The book talks mainly about big game hunting techniques, but the history of the evolution of the first rifles is extremely well done and fascinating. You will be taken to the Wayback Machine. Enlarge the book for easier reading. The icon to enlarge is to the left of the arrows. If you like Samuel Baker's writing style, he wrote a good number of books about his explorations of Cylon, Africa, the USA, and other nations. FIND THEM HERE TO READ ONLINE
