HOW TO DESTROY HERETICS
IN CULTIC CHRISTIANITY

By Steve Van Nattan

The cults of Christendom are thriving. But, many of them are
reporting poor results in recent days. Your assignment is to
do battle with cults and heretics to the glory of Jesus Christ.

You are called to destroy Satan's work.

2 Corinthians 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;

This includes all heresies and false religions. But, in doing this, you will find that you are doing warfare with people.

Get this straight right now. These people who attack you so viciously are loved by God, and Jesus Christ died on the cross to save them. I am fed up with these Fundamental Baptist brats who scream in the face of heretics and brag about it later as if they killed a rattle snake.

What follows are eleven steps in asymmetric warfare. There is stealth involved here, but never let that stealth be used to destroy the heretic mentally or emotionally. Try to destroy the heresy, and invite the heretic to examine what he believes in light of the Word of God.

If you go into spiritual warfare for personal glory, or if all you want is to see the blood fly, Satan will see right through you, and you will be destroyed.

The first thing in dealing with a heretic is to make sure he really IS a heretic.

All heretics will teach some truth. The Roman Catholic Church, the Mormon Church, Jehovah's Witnesses, and all other cults will teach some truth correctly. You must not be satisfied with this as evidence that they are not cults and heretics. Keep asking questions until you find out where they attack and warp the truth. Every cult corrupts the true teaching of the Bible about Jesus Christ. They either make him less than God, or they assign him features which are perverted or just plain filthy. The Mormon Church tells us that Jesus was the brother on Lucifer. The Roman Catholic Church tells us that Jesus is not the only mediator between God and man. The Jehovah's Witnesses tell us Jesus was created in Heaven at a point in the past and that he is not God.

The cult that makes me tremble is the Church of Christ. They get every doctrine in the Bible right, and they are so close to Heaven, but they will go to Hell for only one thing. They teach that the Blood of Jesus alone will not save you. They add water, and they insist that water baptism is essential to be born again. What a fearful thing to get so much right and miss Heaven for this one critical heresy. We are tempted to give them a pass, but God will not.

Galatians 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

Other heresies that crop up are salvation by works, there is no Hell, there are three Heavens, Christians can become sinless now, angels talk to us, Jesus died on the cross so that everyone can be physically healed now, God will make you rich if you give to some ministry, your words can force God to act, Adam was created on day eight, plants have spirits, you can take you dog or cat to Heaven with you, the earth is flat, and a thousand more insane lies. They are as big as destroying God and as silly as throwing cats into Heaven. No matter how small the heresy is, if it violates the Bible's teaching, that person and his friends are heretics, and you need to launch war on them in the Spirit and face to face.

This is not a physically violent battle. It is all spiritual, intellectual, and philosophical. This means that, to wage this warfare, you must have the mind of God the Holy Spirit, along with the ability to use the Word of God as a weapon. And, once you are sure, based on biblical examination, that you are dealing with a cult member or leader, give no quarter until you have destroyed the heresy.

One caution is needed again. If you are not totally convinced by the Word of God and the Holy Spirit that someone is really a heretic or cult leader, you have no business attacking them. A man is not a heretic because he believes the Rapture comes in the middle of the Tribulation. It is not heresy to disagree on some Bible interpretations. Study the marks and principles of a heretic and cultist, and be sure you are really at war with a worker of Satan before you set the war in motion. To learn the marks of a cult or false religion, links are provided at the end of this article to articles in this journal on cults and religions, and links to online sources are provided.

Here are eleven steps in doing battle with heretics. We want to find examples of this in the life of Jesus Christ and his Apostles where ever possible.

1. Be willing, even eager, to walk into the epicenter of the war.

Be willing to hit first, expecting to be hit back viciously, and be characterized later as evil.

Example of Jesus

John 2:13 And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,
14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:
15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;
16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.
17 And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.

Jesus did not wait to be asked what he thought of the temple scene. He went to the temple looking for a battle, and he started the action himself. Also, please notice that Jesus had a towering zeal for the holiness of God's temple. It is very important that you have a great zeal for God's way to be the only way. And, your zeal must drive you to action.

Don't take the first punch. YOU hit first. TWO is why ONE comes first. You will be called a bully for taking the offensive, but that is the key to winning against heretics.

In war strategy, surprise and hitting first is a classic move by winners. Heretics feel, and talk, from a self-image of being superior to you. Be ready for this, and take it away from them at once by slamming them as cravers of combat and hate. Make everyone around you see that the heretic attacked you because he hates you and has NO interest in teaching or persuading. He wants to wound and maim and leave you writhing in pain in front of the people present. Wound him in this way, and then drive home the truth until the mob around you sees the heretic as a beast. Of course this move will be a big joke if you behave like you hate the heretic. If you have the love of Christ for the heretic, you have the high ground.

A preacher was traveling, and he stopped on Sunday to worship in a church of an old friend of his who pastored the church. Unbeknown to him, his friend the pastor was on vacation, and he had asked a pastor friend of his to be pulpit supply for him. The pulpit supply preacher started his message, and the visiting pastor, who decided to stay for the worship service, started noticing strange teaching coming from the pulpit supply preacher. The visiting preacher realized that the pulpit supply preacher had changed his doctrine and was teaching rank heresy. The visiting preacher knew his friend, the regular pastor, had not changed to this heresy, and he knew he would not approve of what was happening. So, the visiting preacher stood up and said, "You, sir, are teaching heresy. You know this church's pastor would not teach this, so you are trying to lead his people astray. I command you to leave that pulpit and get out of this church. Everyone present is ordered, in the name of Jesus, to get up at once and leave, and go home. Your pastor will settle this issue next Sunday."

The heretic fled the church, and the people went home. They all learned an important lesson. Any man in that church service could have done the same thing. If you ever have reason to do this, and if the heretic will not desist from his wicked teaching, start singing some hymn about the blood of Jesus at the top of you lungs. Totally disrupt the heretic.

The rest of the steps below apply where you feel God leading you to debate or verbally go to war with a heretic.

2. Frame the heretic.

The heretic will use ad hominem attacks. He will not invite a discussion of doctrine or truth. He will attack you and try to make you look like Adolph Hitler to those standing around. Beat him to it, but be truthful. Show the heretic, and the crowd, that the heretic is full of hate and wants nothing but to make himself look good by trashing you and other true believers.

The best way to frame the heretic is to demand evidence by him that you are a wicked person. Set him up. Quote what he said about you, that is, characterizing you instead of debating doctrine. Then viciously get in his face demanding he produce evidence that you are indeed what he accused you of. When he changes the subject, bring him back at once to the issue. Do not let him duck and cover. Hammer him until you force him to admit that he cannot prove his accusation. Then, turn the the group around, and tell them they are looking at a heretic who will lie about anyone to make himself look good. Explain to them that this is the classic way with all heretics. Then force him to come back to the discussion of the doctrine you started with.

Example of Jesus

John 8:3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, 4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

Many men have tried to figure out what Jesus wrote in the dust. Was it the names of the Pharisees' whores? Was it the Seventh Commandment? Whatever Jesus wrote, he framed those men. Based on his writing, and on their secret sins, the men could not stay to stone the woman.

Challenge the heretic.

Learn ahead of time the gross contradictions of the heresy. Then, ask the heretic a question which he can amswer easily from his position. Ask him another question which he can again answer easily. Then, ask a third question in which the heretic will contradict one of his first answers no matter how he answers. This is commonly known as a logic trap. Think this out ahead of time so that you can do it smoothly.

At this point, the heretic will resort to ad hominem attack and call you names of accuse you of belonging to some other cult. This is when you will need to frame the debate. If you do not stop at once and force the heretic to stay on topic, you will get nowhere with him.

3. Frame the debate

Tell the heretic that you will not tolerate attacks on Christians who disagree with him. Accusing them, or you, of being immoral for holding a contrary position will end with you walking away. Typical ploys by heretics is to claim that people of your doctrinal position are sex perverts, hate children, want souls to go to Hell, persecuted Christians during Medieval times, or any such tactic to assassinate character.

This principle of framing the debate in doctrinal discussion with only the Bible as a point of argument will take the heretics favorite tactic away from him. Heretics love to recite the sins of preachers who take your position. Also, do not do this yourself, or you will be a hypocrite and lose the initiative. Accusing a Mormon opponent of being wicked because Joseph Smith stole a man's wife, or because Brigham Young smoked cigars, will put you in the place of the bully, even if your claims are correct.

"So, you now show that you characterized me and attacked me to make me into a beast. This conversation is going nowhere. If you cannot stop your mindless attack on my character, I will leave. If, on the other hand, you wish to have a discussion of our doctrinal differences, in the light of the King James Bible, I would be pleased to continue this discussion. I simply will not be bullied by a mindless bigot."

When arguing with a Calvinist, as much as you would like to do so, beware of pointing out that John Calvin arranged the murder of Servetus. This happens to be historical fact, and your opponent knows it. But, stay on the discussion of election, the will of man, or the limited atonement.

Do not let the opponent get away with lies, such as claiming you are an Arminian. He wants you to accept this moniker so that he can make you into a heretic. Reject this at once, and slap him viciously for lying when he said he would stick to doctrinal discussions. Calling names is not debate.

As soon as you see a blank look on their face, you know you have entered an area of doctrinal discussion in which your opponent is not familiar. Develop this further to help him see he is not very well versed in the doctrine. This will also show anyone standing around that the man is unprepared and not well studied.

Example of Jesus

Luke 20:20 And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor.
21 And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly:
22 Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Caesar, or no?
23 But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt ye me?
24 Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Caesar's.
25 And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's.
26 And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace.

The attack was designed to force Jesus to tell the creeps to either pay Caesar's tax or not pay it. If he said pay the tax, they could accuse him of being a puppet of the Roman Government. If he said not to pay Caesar's tax, they could accuse him of disobeying the tax laws. Jesus took the penny, and he asked them to tell HIM whose face was on the penny. It was the face of Caesar. Jesus' answer completely evaded the trap by telling them to pay God what was his, and to pay Caesar's what was his. The debate was at once framed in favor of Jesus. End of debate.

4. Spot inconsistencies in the heretics argument.

This may be in the use of Scripture. It may be that they make claims from the Bible which are totally false. Demand at once that they show you where the Bible teaches the claim. For example, the Fundamental Baptist will claim that tithing is taught in the New Testament. You will demand that he show you a text. He will go to spiritualize some text which talks about how much Jesus did for us, and he will then claim that we should tithe to show that we love Jesus. Bang..... blast the creep. Demand with force that he show where Paul, or any other Apostle, directly ordered the saints to tithe in the old Mosaic legal sense. Keep hammering until he admits he has no such text in the New Testament. This will then show those standing by that the heretic cannot use the Scripture correctly.

[Parenthetic:] Is teaching tithing, as law in the Church Age, heresy? It is not heresy on the order of teaching that Jesus is the brother of Lucifer, as the Mormons teach. But, teaching law in any form in the Church Age is something Paul identified as heresy.

Galatians 3:1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

The Apostle Paul, in speaking of the legalizers in his day, those who try to force Moses' law into Church life, has some very violent words:

Galatians 5:12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you.

Paul suggests that legalizers, like those who demand Christians be circumcised, should be castrated. I would say such people are well worthy of being called heretics. Just because a Fundamental Baptist preacher is teaching tithing is no reason to let the pest have a pass. [End of Parenthetic]

Also, take the heretic's argument all the way to its destination by logic. If the Baptist or Seventh Day Adventist heretic tells you that the law is good, and tithing is a good law from God, and it is bigger than Moses, you tell him he is a hypocrite if he does not keep every other good law. Ask him if it is good to keep the sanitation laws of God in the Old Testament. He will have to answer yes. If he waffles, ask him if filth is commendable. He will have to finally agree that he is teaching that keeping some law is still in force. Then, ask him why he does not observe the law of carrying a feces paddle. This is found here:

Deuteronomy 23:12 Thou shalt have a place also without the camp, whither thou shalt go forth abroad:
13 And thou shalt have a paddle upon thy weapon; and it shall be, when thou wilt ease thyself abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which cometh from thee:

Drive every heresy to its ugly conclusion. You need to think on these things before getting into debate so that you can set the trap for the heretic. Put a wooden kitchen spoon in your jacket pocket to show the legalizer that you keep the law better than he does because you carry a feces paddle.

A Mormon pretends he is your brother (same with Jehovah's Witness). So, ask him what happens to those who never hear the Gospel. He will tell you they will spend eternity in the terrestrial world. There is a middle world called the telestial world, and there is Heaven just for Mormons. Then, ask him where you will go if you reject the Gospel as presented by him. He will hum and haw to keep from telling you the bad news, and he may tell you that you will go to the terrestrial world. Slam him hard at this point for being a wimp and a liar. Tell him that his writings tell him you will go to Hell, and he will wash his feet in your blood.

5. Force the heretic to answer questions.

Whether knocking at your door, in open debate, or in a casual conversation, if you bring up spiritual issues, the trained heretic will start asking you questions. Answer from the Bible, and turn the thing around at once, and ask the heretic a question that leads him to a trap he cannot escape from. If the Jehovah's Witness asks, "Would you roast your son on a Bar B Que? (This is in reference the the JW claim that there is no Hell.) If you simply say, "No," the JW will then go on to ask of God would roast people in Hell. Don't let him get that far. Ask him what he would do if a stray dog was eating his chickens. If he starts waffling, answer for him, "You would shoot the stray dog, right?" Keep on, from this point, asking questions based on what you know about JWs. If you are too lazy to learn what the various heretics believe, stay out of the battle. You are no warrior. You are a lazy draft dodger. To learn what is coming from a JW, buy "Reasoning from the Scriptures" from their publisher. You can often find it in Goodwill. Find it at ABE Books HERE. Make sure the publisher is Watchtower, not Harvest House. You want THEIR book they give their door to door visitors so you can make your our strategy of attack. For years they tried to keep Christians from getting this book because it betrays their strategy, but the book is all over the place by now.

Example of Jesus

Matthew 15:1 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
4 For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
5 But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;
6 And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

The Pharisees were just as proud of their standards of living as any Fundamental Baptist preacher is proud of his "Baptist Standards." These Pharisees had a law about washing hands before eating. The idea of washing before eating was not evil, but making washing of hands into law was added to Moses' law given to Israel by God. Jesus rebukes the Pharisees for making a law which canceled the law of God to take care of parents. The point I want to make is that Jesus did not fall into the trap of explaining why the disciples could eat without washing. Jesus counter attacked with a loaded question.

A classic example of this Pharisaical appending to the law of God today is the Fundamental Baptist law that church members are legally in bondage to tithe ten percent of their income to the local church. There is NO such law in the New Testament for the Church Age. In fact, this tithing law destroys the true teaching on giving in the New Testament:

1 Corinthians 16:1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.
2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

Preachers who teach tithing need to be blasted for destroying the teaching of the Apostle Paul on giving by making tithing laws which relieve members from giving according to the blessing. A member who gets a huge financial blessing one week will give only ten percent of it and feel he is legal because he is tithing. Whereas, God meant for the member to give much more because he received such a huge blessing. Thus, tithing makes the teaching of Paul "of none effect." This is rank heresy. Show no mercy on preachers who teach tithing.

When dealing with a Jehovah's Witness or any other heresy, when you ask a question, make sure it is one that they will be willing to answer. Based on their obvious answer, ask the second question that is easy for them to answer. Set up your questions so that the third question is based in the inconsistencies in their doctrine. This will have them in a logic trap because, no matter how they answer, they will contradict themselves. At this point, they will ask you if you are a minister because they know that the vast majority of Christians are dumb as snot as to their own beliefs. Refuse to tell them if you are a minister. Ask, "Does your belief system stand up to scrutiny by anyone?" They will say it does. At this point ask them why they are terrified of a minister if they know what they believe. The JW is terrified of ministers because they are taught that all ministers are demon possessed. If they look like they are about to flee, bow your head and start praying for them at once out loud. When you are done, if they are not running for their car, they will have a look of terror on their face. JWs are taught that if a minister prays for them, they will become demon possessed. Ask them if Jehovah can protect them from devils. If they say he can, then mock at their teachers for lying to them.

Use these techniques on all heretics, including Calvinists and Arminians and Jackboot Baptists.

6. Don't get distracted by evasions or efforts to attack people.

Every heretic has his hobby horse topic which he tosses at you to move the discussion in his favor. This will be in the form of an attack which he will then use to associate you with evil people. It will often be based on some extreme position taken by other Christians. It may also be scorn and mockery, but the ad hominem aspect arises when the heretic, based on his mockery and name calling, claims he won the debate. Mockery and scorn are not ad hominem until they are used as debate logic. Be careful not to claim an ad hominem attack only because the heretic calls you names. But, do point out the name calling is always a flight from reasoning and shows that the mocker is losing control of the topic or his own mental abilities.

Do not let the heretic change the subject under discussion in this way. Call him on it, and accuse him of avoiding topics where he knows his doctrine is heretical. Tell him you are aware that he is trained to do this to stay clear of embarrassing topics. With a Mormon, he will do anything to escape from the question of whether or not God is in Heaven copulating 24/7 with his wives. With a Jehovah's Witness it will be an escape from any Bible text claiming Jesus is the Son of God and a member of the Godhead. Force them back to the ongoing topic. Do not let them lead you from topic to topic by their choice.

Beware of people on the sidelines interjecting comments, pro or con. Tell them you will talk about that with them later, and force the ongoing topic to be discussed by the heretic. One of the last resort tricks by heretics will be to use the ad hominem tactic of claiming, "All Baptists are _________________." This is to force you onto the defensive. Never let them get away with this. Tell them the lowest form of debate is the ad hominem attack, and go right back to the original topic.

Examples from the Bible and Jesus

1 Kings 18:25 And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves, and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under.
26 And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made.
27 And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.
28 And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.

Elijah mocked the priests of Baal because they did not have the power to bring down fire from Baal. Mockery here was powerful because it forced the onlookers to see their pagan priests as frauds.

Matthew 23:29 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,
30 And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
31 Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.
32 Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.
33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

Jesus was not debating here. He was mocking the Pharisees for their hypocrisy and calling them names that fit the wickedness and fit the culture. Calling a man a viper was, and still is, the most insulting thing you can do with Jews, Arabs, and Africans. Indeed, by calling the Pharisees a "generation of vipers," he was making reference to their mothers. This is possibly the strongest verbal attack on anyone in the whole Bible. But, he teaches. It does not prove an argument because Jesus was not arguing.

But, when you receive an ad hominem attack, claiming your doctrine is false because you are "a jerk," never let a debater get away with that. If you let an ad hominum argument go unchallenged, you lose the debate at once. One way to deal with this is to ask the heretic, "Are you saying that, because I am 'a rebel and church destroyer, your doctrine of tithing is correct?" If the heretic Baptist preachers says "yes," thrash him soundly for using mockery instead of the Bible to prove his claims.

7. If you don't know something,
like an answer to a heretic's question, admit it at once.

The heretic will defend the wicked in his group, and he will try to discuss doctrines he knows nothing about. Do not do this yourself. It is extremely stupid because the heretic may have plenty of Scripture on the topic, and he will whip your foolish posterior.

If the heretic mocks at you for not knowing something, even something in the Bible, ask him if he can discuss anything you throw at him as an expert. If he claims he can, ask him, "What was the British foreign policy in the Middle East in 1875?" When he looks at you with a dumb stare, or if he claims that is different, tell him that you will not hold him responsible for anything he cannot discuss in Mormonism or Jehovah's Witness, and ask him to let you be just as humanly limited as he is. If he keeps mocking at you for not being able to discuss anything he brings up, walk away and leave him standing there. He needs to go to Hell and learn what God thinks of the unmerciful. There is a principle that kicks in at times like this:

Matthew 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

8. Do not get caught defending anyone from your side.

This is used by heretics to distract you and get you on the defensive.

This is based on the ad hominem attack mentioned above. "Billy Graham taught that anyone, even Atheists, will go to Heaven. Do you believe that?" This question is just one of a thousand that can be asked. Some Baptist preacher in the area may have been caught in bed with other women. So what? Do not defend anyone, even if they are clean and on your side. No man is YOUR man, so don't be trapped into defending anyone. This is simply a trick to move the discussion along so that the heretic can transition to his favorite topics. Give a quick answer, and then drag the viper back on topic. "God will judge that man, and nothing you or I think about him matters anyway. Now, back to our discussion of eternal damnation.............."

Romans 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

Go back up to point 5, and read the Matthew 15 text. This is a classic case of trying to make Jesus evil be claiming his disciples are sinning. Notice in verse 3 that Jesus did not exonerate his disciples. He took the discussion right back to the sin in the heretics and proved them to be wicked.

9. Let the heretic have meaningless victories.

The Catholic priest will tell you that the sacrament is holy and should be venerated. You can give him this one by saying, "What God hath made holy, let no man call profane." Anything involved in Christian worship, which is following the commands of Jesus, is holy. Jesus told us to observe the Lord's Supper until he comes back. Give the priest this one. But, brace yourself for the next round in the battle. That will be that Jesus told the disciples to eat his flesh and drink his blood. Go right to the verse later in the chapter:

John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

The words of Jesus are spirit and life. He makes it clear that the flesh does not give life, even his flesh if he did not die and raise again from death. Hammer this home until the priest squeals in pain.

1 Corinthians 11:25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

The point of the Lord's Supper is to remember his works in death and on the cross for us, AND to show his death until he comes back. Paul says nothing there about eating the literal flesh and blood of Jesus.

The Catholic priest reads from all sorts of sources, like missals and Cannon Law, but the Bible gets the least attention in his life.

So, the point is, where a heretic states the truth, agree with him. Then push him on to deal with doctrines he mutilates and destroys. Don't let him keep blabbering on and on about all the things you agree on. That is pointless. He is a heretic, so go for the verdict on his heresies.

10. Body language is very important.

Never stand on the top step and discuss a door to door heretic's religion. Walk down on his level so you are telling him you are not lording it over him. Shake his hand. Get him a drink of water if it is a hot day. If there are chairs or a picnic table nearby, invite him to sit down. Make him comfortable. But, never take an extreme heretic into your home if your children are present. The heretic may be possessed of devils, and you must not let them into your home.

Also, keep your hands open, and never hold your arms in a self embrace. That tells him you are already on the defensive. The two men at the right are clearly not eager to be dealing with one another. The man spreading is aggressive, and the hands signal reluctance to be friendly.

If the heretic has a Bible, let him read from his Bible. It will usually be a perverted version, but you can use most of these versions if you know texts that refute his doctrines. Always read along with him, from your KJV, while he reads the text he quotes to defend his teachings. Where there is a contradiction, correct it from your Bible, but do not go into a discussion of the translation controversy. That will end up taking you away from the real battle. A Mormon will have a King James Version. Just let him know you do not accept the footnotes as sound teaching. When he makes a statement defining what the Bible means, you can usually tell when he is burping up rubbish from the Mormon footnotes, and ask him if that is where he got the information. If so, tell him the footnotes are not inspired and faulty.

When a heretic tells you all about what the Greek text means, have a Greek New Testament on hand, get it, and ask him to read a passage from it. He will admit he cannot read the Greek, and you can then tell him he is a slave of propaganda invented by his cult or religious leaders. Tell him he has to stop chattering about the Greek.

If you use the King James Bible to refute a heresy, like in John 1:1 ".....the Word was God," where the JW bible says, ".....the word was a god," hand him your Bible to read for himself. Always do this so that he cannot pretend that you changed the Bible to your own advantage. Never read the Bible to the heretic. Ask him to read all texts out loud. Doing all the reading yourself tends to tempt you to get preachy. Your conversation must be friendly, not like a Sunday morning sermon.

Remember, during political debate men are trying to destroy one another. When a Bible believer is debating a heretic, he should be trying to destroy the heresy with the objective of saving the heretic. Beware of trying to destroy the man.

Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

If you go into a rage when a heretic spews one of his vile doctrines, you have lost the debate. If you face is full of rage or scorn as you talk, the heretic will realize you don't care diddly whether he goes to Heaven or Hell. When the heretic makes a blasphemous statement, laugh in a jolly way, and say, "Surely you don't believe that." Then go to the Bible, and show him how he is contradicting sound doctrine.

If something funny is said along the way that is not blasphemous, laugh along with the heretic and his friends. Just do not let the heretic use merriment to distract you from the ongoing discussion of his heresy. In parting, be jolly and tell the heretic you enjoyed the time with him. Tell him you learned things about his religion. This can be bait to draw him back for a second visit later. If he offers you literature, take it. Tell him you like to know what your adversary believes. Offer him literature you have. The JWs will decline it. At this point, tell him he is threatened by the Kingdom Hall leaders to never take literature from anyone because they are terrified that he will see the heresies his people taught him. Ask him if he is a coward. If you can, follow him to his car, and throw your literature for him into the car. I throw it up on the dash.

And, don't fake a merry heart. If you are a grouch and sour puss, you have a problem. The lost souls of this world are put off by angry religionists. We have a problem in the Fundamental Christian community with angry preachers with angry eyes. They seem to believe that the Gospel cannot be presented from a merry heart, so they rage and threaten non-stop. Stop it, my friend.

When more than one heretic or observer is present, do not look at other people standing around while reasoning. This tells the heretic that you are soliciting from his friends, and he will flee and take his friends with him. This is very important with Mormons and JWs who always go about in twos. One is the expert, and the other is the novice. Do not deal with the novice if you want to accomplish anything. To do this implies that your argument is weak, and it threatens the expert. At the very end, I do turn to the novice and say something like this: "You have heard the issues during our discussion. You have seen the contradictions of your faith with the Bible. Please go home and pray about these things and check them over again in the Bible. And, your expert friend here will order you to not think about what you heard. If you obey him, you may go to Hell for not doing your own thinking." But, do not deal with the novice during the discussion unless he asks you a question. Answer it from the Bible, and go back to dealing with the expert.

Bottom line: Do you remind the heretic of what Jesus was like? He will know in a flash if you are not like Jesus.

Example of Jesus

When the Pharisees attacked Jesus he came right back at them one on one and did warfare. He did not make comments about the Pharisees to the crowd standing around. Remember, any battle is won once the commander is taken out. Always attack the most experienced heretic present.

11. You do not have to bring the heretic to salvation right now.

If two people come knocking, you will not be able to win one to salvation at that visit. God seldom gives you the harvest at the first contact with regard to soul winning. There is time needed for the seed to grow and mature and bear fruit.

John 4:36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

You may be the first Christian who did not slam the door in the face of the heretic. If so, you are planting seed, and God will let someone else reap the harvest later. A man who demands a verdict for salvation from a heretic is intruding into things God is doing his own way. Be content to sow the seed or water the seed.

If there are two people at the door, give them both your card or phone number. So that the expert can hear you, tell the novice not to give his to the expert if he wants to learn the truth. Warn the novice that the expert will demand him to hand over your card.

While I was pastoring a church in the California High Desert, there was a lady in town who was a famous trouble maker at all school board meetings and town government meetings. Her son became interested in our church and me. He was very bright, and he asked for books to read. He finally got permission from his mother to come to church. He wanted to sneak out and come Sunday evening also. I told him to obey his mother. The lady was driving the boy mad with frantic rules and strange demands. The boy ran away. The mother thought I was hiding him at the church, so she called the Sheriff. The Sheriff came out to the church and wanted to search the place for the boy without a warrant. I rebuked him, and he backed off. Then, having taken the high ground, I invited him to search the whole church and my home. He said he had decided I was not hiding the kid, and he left. Later, the lady sent a private detective around to play games with me. I told him how I had dealt with the boy, and he went home to the mother and told her I was probably her best friend in the whole town because of my principles of dealing with kids and their parents.

The lady flip flopped and made our home her headquarters for searching for her son. We talked with her about the Lord and salvation. She listened and was agreeable, but was preoccupied with finding her son. After chasing all over the Southern California area, she got desperate and went to cry on the shoulder of a lady member of the church. That lady told her that the real issue was that the lady was not born again. At this point the lady broke down and admitted she needed salvation. She confessed her faith with the lady from the church, and the next Sunday morning the lady confessed her faith to me. I was delighted and at once made her part of the family of the Lord in speaking to her and about her. I did not get to take the harvest, but so what? I did what I did and talked with her about salvation. God used another person to take the harvest. God won, the lady won, and I won.

And, the boy? He was hiding out in a church in San Bernadino where he was getting good Bible teaching. He eventually came home and repented. Later, he made a confession of faith clearly.

FALSE PROPHETS

The distinction of a false prophet compared to a heretic is minimal. They both offend in many of the same ways, and many noted heretics make prophecies. But, a false prophet will distinguish himself by making prophecies of the future. He will usually claim that he had a vision, and he will often claim Jesus appeared to him. His prophecies will not come true. That is the first test of a prophet.

Deuteronomy 18:22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presump-tuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

Harold Camping of Family Radio made a giant fool of himself by prophesying the return of the Lord for his Church. He failed the first time, so he tried a second time, and Family Radio is still living under the onus of an aging jerk who made a fool of himself.

When dealing with a false prophet, the first rule is demand dates and signs. Tell the false prophet that Bible prophets, and Jesus, always told the people what signs would come just before a prophetic event.

Second, ask the false prophet if you can stone him if his prophecy does not come to pass.

Deuteronomy 13:1 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
4 Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
5 And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.

Third, most false prophets claim that they have revelation, even telling Christians actions they must take. Show them that God has given no revelation since the book of The Revelation was finished. Tell them that all the plagues of the Bible times will be coming to them, which implies they are heretics and bound for Hell.

Revelation 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Tell the false prophet that because he has become dissatisfied with the 66 books of the Bible and added to it his false rubbish, his destiny is fixed for eternity.

Revelation 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Tell the false prophet he now loves his own lies, and for this he is damned. Do not be gentle or sweet with a false prophet, especially if people are standing nearby who are deceived by the creep. Slam him mercilessly because false prophets NEVER repent. In all my life I have never heard of a false prophet recanting and becoming content with the Word of God alone.

WARNING

Do not make a life calling of doing warfare with heretics and cultists.

You can take up any alleged ministry and make it an obsession which eventually limits your usefulness to God. Some men seem called to be prophecy teachers. I find these men somewhat off balance. They often will teach in churches which are heretical or full of sin and wickedness. Their logic is that everyone needs to be taught prophecy. That is a lie. A wicked church, full of sin and compromise, or into heretical doctrine, needs revival and repentance, not prophecy. The prophecy teaching simply gives them a distraction from dealing with their real issues.

I had a pastor friend long ago who was obsessed with exposing demonic and Satanic power where ever he could find it. He preached very frequently on various Satanic aspects of the world around him, especially on movies and TV shows with satanic themes, and his whole church membership were as obsessed as he was with the topic. He came to be known for casting out devils from people, and they came from hundreds of miles away to be delivered. Some of his efforts seemed to really bear fruit, but at other times he was clearly out of step with the Word of God. He started making rules and guidelines on how to cast out devils and attack Satan, and most of his instructions were not based on the Bible. He even claimed that Michael the Archangel helped him cast devils out of people.

He also had a handful of people in his church whom he claimed had the gift of discernment. These people could allegedly look you in the eye and then tell you if you had a devil secretly living in you. They claimed that they could also see hidden sin in people. I met a couple of them, and I got the creepy crawlies as they stared at me like they were totally examining my soul. This is heretical doctrine and practice. There is only one who can see into your soul and know you thoughts and secret sins.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Jesus is the Word of God, and he is our mediator. We should welcome him to discern what is in us. But, a Bible believer must NEVER submit to soul examination by anyone claiming that ability. What happens next will be lies and tricks by devils in the alleged "discerner." Also, do not try to figure out what sin is troubling a Christian. You will only be guessing, and if you broach it to them, you could be seen as a false accuser if you are wrong. I have had many emails from people who were falsely accused of some particular sin by a jackboot Baptist preacher. Most of these people fled the church.

My pastor friend eventually left pastoring and became a writer of fiction, and he wrote three novels in which the hero was fighting with mystical demonic powers. I had to back away from the brother because I felt he was entirely off balance and abusing his spiritual gifts in his obsession with Satan's power.

Now, let's talk about you, God's servant and spiritual warrior. You must be very careful to restrain the urge to go to war at every opportunity. You can end up getting off balance and end up making a pest of yourself. Finally, you can end up a failure at what God really wants you to be doing. There is an actual approximate formula for spiritual warfare.

James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

Verse 6- Stay humble. Arrogance is a sin often found in spiritual warriors, especially as they get proficient at doing warfare. God cannot use you to win a heretic to Christ if you go into battle full of arrogance and pride.

Verse 7a- Submit yourselves therefore to God. This is the first third of Christian victory.

Verse 7b- Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. The second third of Christian zeal is to resist Satan.

Verse 8- The last third of the Christian experience is to draw nigh to God and cleanse your hands.

Two thirds of your Christians experience must be in giving your zeal to walk with God. Never let your spiritual warfare take up more than a third of your time and energy.

Bob Larson is a classic example of a man who has an obsession with chasing devils. His performances are clearly staged to get the most manifestation out of a devil, and he uses a talisman, a cross, to over power devils. There was no cross waving when the Apostles did warfare with Satan. Larson also chatters and explains what is going on and why this and that happened during an exorcism. Jesus never did this. He dispatched devils at once without explanations along the way.

This video shows Bob Larson jabbing a man and beating him in the head with the Bible, NOT quoting it to him or reading the Bible. He also pokes the man with a silver cross. This is rank Roman Catholic exorcism tactics. There is nothing in this video to remind you of Jesus, and if you venture into this sort of nonsense, YOU could become possessed of devils. Bob Larson, because of his extra-biblical antics, gives me the impression that he is possessed of devils himself. Frankly, I believe he is doing all these tricks to draw Roman Catholics to his ministry. The cross he carries will give them the feeling of power like it does in the hands of a Catholic priest.

In the last exorcism, Larson starts commanding angels of the Lord where to stand. That is sub-christian hog wash. God's people have NO authority to boss around the angels.

BOB LARSON COVERED BY FOX NEWS

Notice how Larson gives command after command without doing so in the name of Jesus or referring to the Blood of Jesus. This causes me to assume that, when he seems to succeed in an exorcism, Satan is playing along with him and leaving the person to give Larson credibility. Thus, Larson is working with Satan to play games which deceive gullible onlookers. I would expect to learn, if we could do so, that the devils return to the people later. Also, Larson never appears to give them the Gospel. I have to assume he is not in this to save souls, but to exalt Bob Larson. Finally, the interview of Larson by Fox News shows that there are some pretty nasty tricks going on regarding Larson's money flow. And, if you have ever studied the art of catching liars by watching body language, Larson flunks the truth test badly.

In dealing with cult members or heretics, never get into animated combat like you have just seen. If you cannot keep an encounter rational and orderly, abandon the heretic and walk off.

Jude 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:
23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

Go see if you can save some.

CONCLUSION

Why do you go into spiritual warfare? After all, it is war.

Many men want to have something to brag about to their preacher friends, and other men want to be able to tell their war stories at church dinners and during Wednesday evening prayer meeting. That is all about YOU. Nothing good will ever come from your battles for self-glory.

Who won? If you or the heretic won the battle, God was not served. Your objective must be that Jesus will win.

The world has a saying..... Nothing ventured, nothing gained. You cannot waste your time if you do warfare with a heretic and use the King James Bible as your weapon. If you really care about the destiny of the heretic, and you fought fair and with compassion for a lost soul, God is honored, and he is working.

Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

John 12:31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Walter Martin, in his book on witnessing to cults, Kingdom of the Cults, tells us that a Mormon will almost never confess faith in Christ until he gets mad. He will first get mad at you for exposing the filthy aspects of Mormonism. He will then run to his bishop and ask him if any of your claims are true. The bishop will be forced to admit that what you said is truly what Mormonism teaches. Then, the Mormon you dealt with will transfer his rage from you against Mormonism for hiding its filthiest teachings. The important thing then is for you to find the Mormon and help him come all the way to salvation in Christ. This is also true of Islam and many other false religions and Christian cults.

One last caution. Some preachers, mostly because they are lazy slobs and hate to do homework, claim they don't waste their time studying the cults and heresies and false religions. This is stupid arrogance. If you don't make yourself familiar with what Mormons, JWs, and Seventh Day Adventists believe, you will have no idea where they are coming from. You will also not be able to sense where they are evading their own weak logic. The Apostle Paul stopped to learn about the gods of the men of Athens before he climbed the philosophers' hill to reason with them. In doing this, he learned that they have made a statue honoring "the unknown god." This they did to make sure not to insult some god they did not know about. Paul used this in his reasoning with the philosophers, and it caused them to listen to him.

Acts 17:22 Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.
23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

There is nothing noble about being ignorant. If your pastor tells you that all you need to know if the Bible, well, that may sound pious, but it is arrogance. If Jesus had not gain knowledge about the prevarications of the Pharisees and their picky laws, he would not have been able to go toe to toe with them. No General goes to war totally ignorant of the enemy and his strategies. The Internet is loaded with web pages made by SDAs and other cults. They totally hide their heresies in order to gain credibility with sound Bible teaching people online. If you don't know their teachings, you will be tricked into associating with them or linking to them. This is what they want. I have seen many web pages which were made by Bible believers, and on their pages they linked to other web pages they recommended. When I checked these links, I found they were done by SDAs or other heretics. Stuck on stupid is not a gift of the Holy Spirit, my friend.

2 Corinthians 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

One last comment is needed. Seventh Day Adventism IS a cult, and they ARE heretics. For their addition of Ellen G White as a prophetess giving revelation added to the Bible, they will all go to Hell unless they denounce Ellen G White.

Now, go help a heretic see that his beliefs are false. You may save a soul.

THIS IS CLASSIC WARFARE ON THE TOPIC OF THE SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CULT
You see most of the list of steps above, and you will see the core issue you need to use when dealing with a Seventh Day Adventist. Is Ellen G. White infallible? Anyone who says she is has blasphemed the Word of God, and they will go to Hell, even if they get every other doctrine of the Christian faith correct. The SDA gentleman seems sound of doctrine until he disagrees with the literal interpretation of the Greek in Hebrews 9. He runs to the RSV which is a profane mutilation of many Bible passages. This man is a heretic, and for his defense of Ellen G. White he will burn in Hell. It is essential that you give a verdict on such issues BEFORE you go to battle with the cults.

The doctrines trashed by various cults are defended. You will need to search the side list of videos to go to the next video in the series of six.

CAUTION: When you search online at Google for "cults," you will often find YouTube channels which seem to do very well at exposing cults. The vast majority of the time these channels will be owned by a Seventh Day Adventist, and he will glaringly leave out the SDAs. Doing research into the cults is a very creepy process now days. Be careful of your sources.

ISLAM IS A CULT OF BOTH JUDAISM AND CHRISTIANITY
Mohammed got much of his religion from Jews and Christians. He had an uncle named Waraqa who carried an Arabic version of the Gospel of John. Waraqa visited Mohammed, and Mohammed did not submit to the Gospel. He stole many things from it to frame up his bogus religion. Many Bible teachers and missionaries consider Islam a cult of Christianity and Judaism.
